What People are saying

Very good hotel with great service

Luksor Ron 27/08/2017 10:05

We stayed in Belvedere Hotel one week ago (for a week) with all inclusive service. In fact, we could give "5", but there were some low importance details which cannot be reviewed for "5".
We are really happy to have been guests of Belvedere, because reading some previous reviews, we had some doubts. Although most of these reviews were unfair and we are really surprised reading "bad hotel" or "don't go there".
The hotel is quite big, not as big as some huge resorts, but big enough to make you feel you're on international holidays. The building isn't new, but mostly renewed. Our room was big enough (we had a room on the 3rd floor, with sea view). The room was clean, spacious, the bed was a bit tough but still it was big and clean. We had a huge wardrobe, fridge (free of charge), desk, table, flat TV on the wall (unfortunately only 2 channels working quite good - BBC WorldNews and greek SKAI). The most important while staying in the room was an air conditioner (free of charge), manual, so that we could set it just like we wanted to and it was very good (comparing to some other hotels).
There was a private bathroom, probably renewed not so long ago (new walls and facilities). Both toilet and a bathtube were working good, there was only one thing disturbing sometimes - a smell of sewage (I thing this is a common problem in seaside hotels).
We could get to our room both by stairs and an elevator.
The all inclusive food service was very good (not excellent). There were many various dishes for each meal. For a lunch - hot and cold main courses (every time 5-6 to choose), salads, soup, pastries, desserts, sauces. For a breakfast - eggs, sausages, hot and cold dishes, fresh bread and pastries, vegetables, flakes, yogurth, fresh fruits, jams, chocolate, toasts, honey. For a dinner - fresh bread and pastries, mostly hot dishes, salads, souces. For breakfasts there was variety of hot and cold drinks - tea (selection of Lipton), coffee, milk (hot and cold), soft beverages, juices, water. For lunches and dinners only cold drinks - oft beverages, juices, water. For lunches and dinners - white and red wine. Beer, vodka, ouzo and other alcohol drinks were available in a pool bar for the whole day.
The meals were served in a restaurant, sometimes we had to wait, because all the tables were occupied. Although a staff member were taking care of the situation and every time was calling waiting guests after any table has been vacated.
In our opinion there should be more cold food for a dinner (sometimes in looked like we had two lunches - afternoon and evening one).
The hotel service was excellent, rooms were cleaned everyday, also the reception staff was very helpful and kind, everytime we had any question, we got a full satisfying answer. The restaurant staff worked hard to make guests feel taken care and happy.
Almost every evening there were music shows by the pool, though sometimes they were poor quality. But for us it wasn't a problem at all.
The beach was very close to the hotel, just 2 minutes walk. It was very small, sunbeds and umbrellas were free of charge. But it was hard to take one, beacuse many guests were putting their towels in the morning to kind of book them for the whole day - hotel staff should do something with that. The sea water was pure, clean and warm. The surroundings of the hotel were nice, quiet (besides the cars and buses driving down the street). Corfu is very green island, we could see this also around the hotel.
Given all the details and overall feeling about the hotel, we really enjoyed our stay there and we can absolutely recommend Belvedere for a family or couple stay.
Thank you Belvedere Hotel, we hope to be your guest once again soon :)

PS. The staff should take more care of a little ginger cat downstairs, because he looked like he needed a vet.

Excellent value for money

We stayed at Belvedere for 6 nights/ 5 days and were not disappointed! We had a recently renovated room which was large with an ensuite and balcony. Every day house keeping came with towels being replaced every other day.

It is true that perhaps that pool is a little bit small but it is not a problem as the beach is very close by and has the clearest waters! Make sure you bring water shoes for the beach as it is pebbles (we prefer this anyway as sand can be annoying!). As is common at all hotels, there was a bit of a fight for sun beds especially at the beach. We resorted to getting up at 6am to be able to guarantee a parasol and two sun loungers. It seemed that some guests were leaving there towels on beds over night as although all the beds had been claimed the beach remained quiet until mid morning. Perhaps this is something the hotel could have stricter rules on.

The food was fine. It wasn't amazing in terms of taste but there was always plenty on offer and the dining area was cool and clean. Some reviews seem to expect 5* food for the cheap price you pay, an unrealistic expectation.

The staff, from house keeping and maintenance to waiters, were friendly and helpful. You cannot fault the staff. On our final day we had an evening flight and our airport transfer was not until 9pm. Although checkout was earlier in the day we were able to shower in an unoccupied room meaning we could spend another day on the beach! We also ate before leaving for the airport.

If you are after a peaceful relaxing break then I'd highly recommend this hotel. It is, as others have mentioned, slightly isolated and is not massively set up for kids but this is a positive point as it means the location is perfectly tranquil. There was entertainment for two of the nights (including traditional Greek dance/music) we were there, which was enough for us.

All in all a lovely beach break, that was a perfect destress after university exams!

Great hotel, but you will need a car!

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days in May half term.
After having a lot of problems booking through icelolly.com, we went with on the beach!
I cannot fault this hotel's views, you can watch the planes come in over the sea and it's beautiful.
Even if you do not choose this hotel, I would highly recommend driving down to this hotel for its beautiful private public beach (there is car parking) the water was the most clear we saw throughout the whole of Corfu! It's BEAUTIFUL, just bring your goggles and some good shoes for the rocks!

The food was not great, there was not a lot of option and we became quite bored of the food so we decided to eat out at a Italian in Corfu town.
Unfortunately this hotel is a all inclusive, if it wasn't then I would say to go B&B or half board as the hotel itself is lovely.
We found The Belvedere was not a hotel where you could hang around all day at the pool, you've got to get out as there was no entertainment and can get quite boring. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a car, it's dirt cheap and you can see all of the island very quickly (and as I said go down to the beach!)
There are no English, I am not sure if it is any different in the summer time however this did not bother us.

The reception staff was very welcoming and helpful which was great!
There was 3-4 flavours of ice cream which was unlimited which was nice however just down the road there was a ice cream bar which had lots of different flavours (and there were cocktail bars ;) )

Corfu is beautiful, this was our first Greek island and it's honestly beautiful!

So, if you see this hotel as your searching and you know you'll be out travelling the island most of the time then just book it now! It's a very nice, clean hotel and it's in such a good location. Even if you do not stay here, make sure you go to the pier by the airport, there are cafes over looking the runway where literally the planes are so close! (Pictures added)

Good hotel, great staff.

The hotel is slightly isolated, there is a shop next door however you need to take buses to the nearest villages and towns. There is a private beach across the road which has sunbeds provided by the hotel. Our room was clean and the cleaning staff were very friendly. The only downside was that we had booked a room for 3 people and ended up with a family room and tiny bunk beds.
Food in the all inclusive restaurant was of good quality however at times you had to wait to enter the restaurant as it was not big enough to cater for a hotel of this size. The staff in the restaurant work hard to keep things running smooth though.
The hotel has two bars with excellent bar staff, local spirits are served and measures are generous.

In summary, the staff really work hard to make the hotel a nice place however we would have preferred a more central location.

LOVE
