What People are saying

Quiet and beautiful

cesca0305on 11/08/2017 10:11

July 2017 visit. I have to say, I was really worried about this place because of some of the reviews on here, but it was so, so beautiful. Standing up by the windmill and looking out to the coast is breath-taking, or even the fact it has a windmill at all! Portugal is a pretty expensive place to get to (fine when here) but this was definitely one of the cheaper places we came across that wasn't way out of town. It was great.

Location - if you want quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the towns, I'd definitely recommend this place. Walking down (several hills!) takes around 20 minutes I'd say. The only issue with that is getting back up - it was simply too hot to be tackling those hills back from the Old Town in the day, but at night, we were fine. Taxis are only about €5 anyway. Hills aside, I loved the location. It's not the kind of pool where you have to put up with a tonne of screaming kids taking over the pool so if you want quiet, this is the place.

Room - at first we were in a studio, which was fine for what it was. Lovely bathroom and all spacious too, with the kitchen providing a fridge, hob, kettle and microwave along with utensils should you just want to prepare something for yourself. I'd say the only two issues with the room was that it was VERY hot in there, sort of like a heat trap, even at night but they had a fan. The bed hurt my back a little, but my boyfriend was fine. Each to their own on that front! Lady on reception is lovely and actually ended up offering us an apartment because she'd double-booked. That was fine by us! The apartment was a LOT cooler - but both places were nice in terms of a place to rest.

Nearby - We arrived at about 8pm and I'd seen on here that people were complaining about keys and the reception being closed. We arrived and it was closed but the key was taped to a window as stated. I can see why that would worry people but the whole time we were there, all residents found their keys just fine from what we saw with our days by the pool. It doesn't seem a dodgy enough area for that to be a problem (I wouldn't do that in Birmingham)! There's a lovely restaurant we went to on the first night called O Leme and I'm glad we found it. The places out of the centre of the Old Town are a LOT better for service and quality of meals. There's a shop and a cafe round the corner too for your snacks.

Overall, I loved my time there and I'd definitely not let some of the reviews on here put you off - it's better value, in a better location if you want the quiet and the scenery is wonderful. It's just the hills that were the major struggle in the July sun!

Tranquil Hotel

Booked this hotel as a last minute add on to a family holiday, and what a lovely place it was, on arrival found our room was ready, on inspection was lovely quaint room with separate kitchen, and dining area, outside was a patio with seating in the shade
A perfect setting for getting out of the sun
The pool area was a suntrap, and sheltered from the wind
All in all a haven of tranquility and we shall return

Tranquility away from the tourist zone

Booked at the last minute and our very first time to Portugal. Bem Parece is based at the top of the hill adjacent to residential homes and the derelict and unused holiday village Ocean Ville.
We were booked in to a studio No3.Which had its own terrace(real hotspot) Room was very tidy and clrean with a very comfortable bed, a small kitchen with fridge,Microwave kettle ,toaster etc.Shower had consistent hot water with good pressure..At the rear of the studio was a poll with well stocked loungers and parasols and lovely gardens. We only encountered 3 people some days on our visit and many days had pool to ourselves..A short 5min walk down the hil lturn left at the patio village and turn left at the bottom and there is a great cafe bar and a supermarket and the restaurant O leme( see other reviews). We walked to and from the old town in a 15 minute walk.

To get there go out of the Bem Parece gates, down the steps turn left then walk toward the dolphin roundabout cross the road twice then down the residential street where there is a parkland a house continue till you get to the end of the road where you will see a sign Frutaria Albufeira,Turn left then contuse over road and down a side street where you will see Eddy's bar.Continue down and you will be in the old town....Easy? Yes after a couple of times.Alternative a taxi 3.90 euros
Rose on reception is very helpful and friendly. She will also arrange for your pickup the day before.Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels.Free Wi fi and satellite tv(didn't use)
Overall this was a relaxing weeks stay and highly enjoyable and relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the old town....Oh I forgot you can also stay in the converted windmill just off the pool.Amazing views of Albufeira and beyond.

If we ever come back to Albufeira,we wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

early October visit. We were looking for autumn sunshine, a nice pool to relax and a few local amenities such as a café and shop.

We found all these things at Bem Parece. We were not expecting the lovely gardens and quiet village atmosphere which we also enjoyed.

The staff were very helpful and professional.

We knew of the large tourist town nearby which is run by the British for the British. You can keep Alberfiura but perhaps a car would allow access to the northern villages and scenic coast to the west...

Peaceful

Just came back from albufeira nice place very steep where we stayed. Lovely and quiet though. Weather wonderful. Ben parece is a quaint little place. Shabby chique and basic but nice could do with some modernisation especially windmill, stayed in for 1 night but storm flooded us so had to move to a nicer apartment. Don't know if it return
