The Bend Riverside Inn & Suites was what we needed for the weekend. Hot water, comfy bed and pet friendly. We got the standard room, so we weren't wow'd by any means but you get what you pay for.
I would stay here again as a good economic choice.
Only real complaint is that after a two-night stay, we didn't get turn-down service (maid cleaning) to give us new towels and what not. That would have given them 4-stars if we got that.

I choose a basic room with one queen as I was alone. There have been some modest updates.The room was quite, clean and had all the basics for a one or two night stay. Bring your own blow dryer, iron and a little ice chest for a few drinks. The grounds are well maintained and is in a park-like setting. The pool is covered with a hot tub. All amenities are clean, modest and pleasant for those who enjoy non pretentious places to stay with a bit of charm. The inn is located for close proximity to all of Bend, and yet not right in the middle of it because it can be busy with activities. The river is so nice, very therapeutic and it runs right behind the inn with groomed trails that are patrolled for added safety. The desk clerks are super nice and helpful. I found that Brianna-Ann was the best at her job. She went above and beyond to help me.They provide coffee and a few light snacks for a bit of refreshment. With you many fine eateries you really will want to go out to eat anyway. Parking is well lit and some are covered. It is an older inn so you will want to be aware of stairs for the second floor rooms. I just had a total hip replacement and found it good exercise and it reminded me of summer camp. I will stay there again.

Let's call it basic accomodations. Two flights of stairs up and then 3 steps down with no elevator to Room 231 (never mind the room phone says Room 230) Two granite top desks, one without any electric outlets, and only one chair. Your choices to sit on the one chair or the bed.
As usual for most hotels, only one luggage stand, wifey's suitcase goes on the floor. There was a coffee maker and a small flat screen TV on the far wall a good 15 feet from the bed. You must commandeer the one chair to watch TV. No microwave, safe, or fridge. Only one trash receptacle.
I would say poor lighting. The one desk has no lighting at all and the other, more a dressing/makeup station does have good overhead lighting. The bed does have 610 lumens halogen reading lights on each side. I looked that up and as near as I can figure they are the equivalent of a 50 watt bulb barely adequate for these older eyes.
A single ceiling fixture by the door but nothing in the main part of the room. Sorry to be so negative...the good? Outstanding free wi-fi in room (5mpbs download), nice towels and kleenex.
Basically a place to shower and sleep.

when I booked the room I asked if the cottages had a patio or deck off the room. I was told all the rooms facing the river do. Ours does not. There isn't even an access door and the window to look out at the river is filthy. I emailed two weeks prior to ask about parking - no response. After we had unpacked the front desk said the "might" be able to move us but they were busy at the moment. There is also a storage closet in our room. When we opened it to unpack, we were quite surprised. The closet this IS available has one hanger (for two people) and the bed has two very small pillows. We did find one extra pillow stashed in the storage.
The kitchen is clean and I do like the pine floors.
When we arrived one hour early (2pm) on a Thursday, we were told we couldn't check in early. They wouldn't even check to see if the room was ready. Check in is at 3pm. Period.

Love the location of this inn on the river and the fact that it has been recently renovated. There is a restaurant, bar and swimming pool on site making it easy to have an enjoyable stay. During happy hour we enjoyed a glass of wine with an asparagus and divided a proscuitto appetizer that was amazingly tasty!
