What People are saying

b & b

the perfect location for staying near Asheville. Just a 5 - 10 minute drive outside downtown Asheville. the Inn is a perfect place to rest, regroup and re-connect with that special someone. The owners, Doug and Jodie and the entire staff is the best. the food was great and the grounds around the lodge were colorful and enormous. Will return on our next trip to the Asheville area.

Charming B & B

We stayed three nights in this lovely B&B. The location was perfect, just far enough away tucked in the woods but close enough to many restaurants and shopping. Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore were only minutes away.

Our room was The Fern which was on the lowest floor. It was clean and spacious with a jetted tub. Both the main level as well as the lower level had sitting areas with TVs and fireplaces. Both very cozy with stocked refrigerators full of soft drinks and water.

The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful with very fresh ingredients. Every afternoon there were freshly baked goods that were baked that morning.

We plan to return next year for another relaxing weekend.

Everything We Were Looking For

We just spent 4 nights at the Bent Creek Lodge with friends from eastern PA. The lodge is situated in the woods, but within close proximity to all there is to see and do in Ashville. Bent Creek ranks as one of the nicest B&Bs we have ever stayed in. Our room was a nice size and well appointed, with a gorgeous view from the deck beyond. The path out back meanders through a beautifully landscaped garden to a fire pit well stocked with firewood. We built a fire our first night. Inside the community rooms are decorated with comfortable furnishings, many of which were made by Doug, the owner and innkeeper. A large fireplace was appreciated as the temperatures were chilly. Jodee, the other innkeeper and Doug’s wife, is a trained chef who created incredible breakfasts every morning. I bought one of her cookbooks, hoping to create magic at home. Hopefully we will return to the area, and when we do we would definitely stay at Bent Creek again.

Relaxing Get Away

The Asheville area is an easy drive from central Ohio and staying at the Bent Creek Lodge was a great choice. The short, winding road up to the lodge is narrow and very dark at night. We never met a car going the opposite way. Try to arrive before dark. It’s just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and convenient to the city of Asheville. You feel a world away but you’re not.

Lobby has a small TV with cozy seating area in front of a fireplace. A full size pool table separates the seating area from the dining tables. A refrigerator was there if guests had items to cool. It was stocked with soft drinks with snack bars available too. There’s a large deck with tables and chairs if you want to eat outside.
We stayed in the water room decorated with fishing gear and photos. Room was very clean. Very comfortable bed with such soft linen and a large bathroom with a walk in shower. All rooms look out to the surrounding forest with a door leading out to a walkway. They have bar height canvass chairs by each door if you want it sit and watch nature. Being convent means road noise intrudes on the silence of the woods. We stayed four nights so the outside walkway was an easy way to get in and out of our room without having to go out the front door. Rooms have air conditioning and heat. There was a ceiling fan in our room which you controlled with the pull chains. It was warm when we were there with the trees just starting to change color. No TV in the room but we usually don’t turn watch TV while vacationing.

This was our first ever bed and breakfast stay so we were surprised with a front door key as well as our room key. Front door was always locked and you were to lock it as you left.
We woke each morning to the wonderful smell of coffee and that particular morning’s treat. Breakfast was served during a short time each morning. Different egg based main course with a side of meat and bread. Coffee was self serve with juice choices brought by a server. Yogurt with a homemade granola was delicious too.
After our busy days of hiking and sightseeing we enjoyed the afternoon snack on the counter. Having coffee available would have been a nice touch.
We were able to buy discount tickets to the Biltmore mansion at the lodge which saved a wait in line.

Deloha was in charge and a delight since the owners were on their own vacation. Sadly we never got to meet them. Maybe we will on our next visit.
