Celebrated our first anniversary in style!
Kyla Pon 11/08/2017 16:32My husband and I spent a week backpacking in the Tetons, and then spent three luxurious nights at the Bentwood. It was the perfect contrast to Clif Bars and trail mix! We loved the inn keepers, Gene and Carol, and we loved their cooking too. We were lucky enough to participate in a four-course private bistro dinner, and it was delicious and fun. The Inn is close to the park and the town is a beautiful bike ride away (plus they have bikes you can borrow!). The room was cute, clean, and comfortable. This hotel is one of National Geographic's Unique Lodges. Part of that title includes requirements for environmental sustainability (please see my comments below for more about this). It was hard to leave, and our wheels are already turning considering if we could make it back for a ski trip next time!
Wonderful!
Jane Ton 08/08/2017 02:25WE cam across this wonderful inn by accident. It is beautiful ad unique. I love the setting (off the road down a gravel driveway(and the wonderful wood interior.Everything is first class. Our breakfast was wonderful (egg dish, steal cut oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and more.
I will definitely be back again. This is a wonderful spot to just relax, sit on the porch, enjoy the hot tub, or keep an eye out for elk. The young lady serving breakfast (a student at the University of Chicago) was delightful and helpful.
Booked the family for daughter's destination wedding
Larry Bon 04/08/2017 18:35Our experience could not have been better. Every facet of our stay exceeded our expectations. The property is suitable for events any time of year, as it is located just south of Teton Village and its world famous ski runs.
A perfect Grand Tetons base
Antipodeans_Abroadon 16/07/2017 21:15We had two nights at the Bentwood Inn, using it as our base for an all-to-brief Grand Teton NP experience. The property is set back a little from the road, amongst a stand of trees, and so does have a high degree of privacy and gives a good impression of being out on its own. However, the reality is that it’s only 5-10 minutes from downtown Jackson, and even closer to the small village of Wilson; so, arguably, the best of both world.
Our room, Indian Paintbrush, was very cozy and while not huge it was commodious enough for a stay and features a small balcony that overlooks the grounds where wild beasties may occasionally roam…. The bathroom is good-sized and delivers everything that you’d need and expect. The sleep quality was excellent, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
The downstairs sitting room is very inviting and the perfect place to relax and enjoy the daily wine and cheese hours, or if the weather is inclement. Breakfast is served around the corner in the common dining room and typically includes a wide range of non-cooked options (cereals, fruits, juices, breads, etc, etc) and there will be a featured, daily-changing cooked option.
As others have noted, there’s been a recent change of ownership, and this is bringing with it the inevitable settling-in period. The new innkeepers are certainly very friendly and keen to assist in any way that they can; they loaned us Bear Spray for our hike and even did some washing for us (although they may prefer that I didn’t mention that as, strictly speaking, it's probably not part of the standard service)..! They are nothing if not hospitable. The Inn is a little over 20 years old now and there are one or two signs that maintenance may become more of an issue, but I sure that the proprietors will do everything to ensure that they keep their good reputation. Most of the accommodation is located on the upper level, accessed via a single flight of stairs, so just be aware that if you have mobility issues you may wish to secure one of the downstairs rooms.
Jackson itself is a buzzy, happening place with lots of charm and a full range of services and facilities.
The acid test (that is, would I return): certainly; this was easily a 9/10 experience.
Amazing Inn and Fantastic Hosts!
oineeon 23/06/2017 14:30My husband and I stayed here for two nights and what a treat this place is! Chef Mike and Sheryle were the most amazing hosts! Warm, welcoming, fun and wow wow...Chef Mike had some amazing breakfasts each morning and fantastic hors d'oeuvres each evening with a great wine selection. The Inn is beautiful, nestled in the woods and a frequent home to a moose and her cubs. :-) We loved every moment of our stay, our room and especially the warmth of the hosts!
