Wonderful GET AWAY FROM IT ALL HOTEL!
CoralSpainon 06/08/2013 19:10LOCATION / STAFF This is a wonderful family run hotel situated in an idyllic location, perfect for those wanting to get away from it all! The hotel is surrounded by the countryside, hills and moutains with spectacular views. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, infact, away from the small towns... in the middle of nowhere makes this an ideal retreat for those wanting peace and quiet. If you like walking/hiking there are trails close to the hotel .. you really dont need to take the car...
STAFF - The family run hotel is simply amazing... the staff are really friendly and informative.. They are happy to chat with you over a beer... give you some recommendations on where to trek, visit and dine... generally making your stay a truly wonderful experience...
FACILITIES - There is a bar, a lounge, a rooftop terrace (with stunning views) and a small area outside next to the hotel for those wanting to chill, have a coffee and/or chat.
BOOKING - The hotel is small so it is advisable to book well in advance if you want to stay here.
FOOD - Breakfast was good costing 4 euros and was served to you on a small tray... they brought us hot toast, a drink, a croissant, jam and marmalade, and a glass of orange juice.
The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and the location is simply ideal so what are the drawbacks?
DRAWBACKS? We booked a double room and on check in we were allocated La Boriza, which was was an attic room... it was up one flight of stairs plus a narrow spiral staircase... we did not know this in advance of our stay... The view from the room was spectular... our room ´La Boriza´ However, as it was an attic room it had a low sloping room over the bed, a low sloping room over the bath and restricted access to the bathroom... we bumped our heads a couple of times! Im 5ft 5ins and found it uncomfortable to move about in the room. As the hotel was full we were unable to change... We were also unable to access the WIFI in the room... although this can be accessed in the lounge area...
We RECOMMEND... asking for a numbered room as they appear to be ´normal rooms´ with full size bedrooms, full size bathrooms plus bidets...
CAUTION - It was very difficult to find the hotel. We got lost on several occasions! The roads to the hotel are long and winding... with no lights at night... if you are planning a break where you plan to visit neighbouring places eg, Llanes, Cangas etc it may be advisable to book somewhere more central.
PRICE... We managed to get a great price for the hotel room as it was in low season...
Expect to pay more if not double in high season... August
OVERALL - We loved our time at this hotel. The experience was truly memorable and we are planning to go back next year... We cannot recommend this hotel enough...

They did not really speak english but good enough to understand.
The breakfast is not big at all but its enough.
The rooms are small but clean and maintaned.
Really nice people and i would definently recommend it.

statetrooper61on 27/09/2010 15:53The Benzua is located approx 20 km away from Llanes in the scenic coastal mountains in a very quite village with only a handful of houses approx 3km away from the main road. The hotel itself and the rooms are perfectly clean and nice. There is a bar on the ground floor where also the breakfast is served. Breakfast is huge compared to the spanish hotel average (Toast, cake, coffee, orange juice). The hotel is run by a family. Everybody is extremely nice and you can get very good hints for hiking trails, sightseeing etc. from the owners. They speak also good english and german. We will come back to this beatiful place! Thanks a lot for making this such a nice stay.
