Disappointing experience

Stayed here for the Steps concert with 3 friends on Monday 13th for one night bed and breakfast. I had previously booked this hotel online as a double and triple but with a friend pulling out and my partner not going we ended up changing both rooms to two singles. I gave a few days notice of this change over the phone and was told everything was fine and they would try get us rooms beside each other. When we got to the hotel we were charged for the triple room even though I had changed it. I thought I'll just pay it and get it over with. So after paying all the cost we were then told to give a card so if there were any damage or smoking in the room but as I had a visa debit they said they couldn't accept it. Then they asked me for €150 cash as deposit and that would be for each room as we had two rooms booked. The girl at the desk was rude but fearing we wouldn't get another room at the same price at last notice I handed it over myself. The girls didn't have it to give. We got into the lift and it gave an awful jump start we thought it was going to break down. We got to our rooms and the walls had black marks on them. I got out my phone and recorded everything in case they accused us of doing them. The bed was hard and springy. The floor boards creaked everytime you moved. Breakfast the next morning was cold. Check out was at 11 but we got up early had breakfast and left. Thankfully I did get the deposit money back. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Does the job but didn’t wow us

Nice place to rest your head on a short trip to Dublin, not too far from main areas such as Grafton Street and temple bar. Really close to public transport and great links to airport.

Fire alarm went off three times during our 2 night stay which is why rated so low. Wasn’t the comfiest of rooms and quite noisy rooms.

Overall a decent place if your on a budget

Second time staying here, Perfect for a nights stay in Dublin City centre. It is in a great location and everything is in walking distance. If your looking for a weekend in Dublin at a reasonable cost I'd definitely recommend this hotel and the rooms are spotless, staff are great too !!

ideal location

Stayed here with my daughter, for some reason a double room was booked, this was quickly rearranged to a large double bed and a single without any problems.
The hotel is in an excellent location, 5 minute walk to O'Connel Street, 10-15 minute walk to the Temple Bar, bus station across the road from where the hop on/off bus and the bus to the airport departs frequently. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.
Our room faced inward with not much of a view but very little time was spent in the hotel and from reading some of the reviews with the noise from the bus station I would recommend you request one of these rooms if all you need to do is sleep after a busy day exploring Dublin.

Perfectly ok

I stayed at the Beresford Hotel with my sons and daughter for 3 nights at the start of November. As my title suggests, for the price, it is perfectly fine. Yes, it may well look a little ordinary at times and to be honest, the bed was not to my liking, but the room was clean and everything functioned. I guess it depends on how you look at hotel stays... I have had many... and I feel that the Beresford can be recommended as long as you are paying an average price. I have read a few reviews of this place, so as far as I am concerned, the bathroom functions well, including the shower, as does the room heating. The staff are pleasant. Finally, the breakfast can be recommended at a cost of 10 Euros... but there could be a little more choice of course. And don't forget the favourable location. We could easily walk to the National Gallery, shops, restaurants, whiskey bars etc. So, all in all, a perfectly ok stay!
