A room with a view
Ingrid_NNon 17/07/2017 21:38It is absolutely amazing to look down on Trier and see the city spread out before you. On a clear day it is almost as if you are looking at a maquette. Rooms are decently sized and clean.The bathroom is (for a hotel) on the larger side. Do be aware that there is no airconditioning (at least not in our room). An electronic fan was provided but I could imagine the room becoming warm on a hot summer's day. I imagine this hotel is one of the best for value for money in the region. It is only a short drive down to Trier.
Kind staff and great view

The bed was not queen size but 2 small beds one next to each other.

Geeesson 03/05/2017 01:57This is supposed to be a castle hotel atop a hillock.It has few god views from some rooms but not all.Its service attitude is poor and as its popular as the best the area has it seems always full so perhaps ignores service.
the rooms are passable as are the amenities.I am sure they can try to do better.The service at reception is dependant on who is free in the kitchen or restaurant
When the sun streams into the place you forget all these pinpricks and can quiet enjoy the natural beauty! Plenty of parking and a nature lovers delight

Santini97on 24/03/2017 19:24As my wife's first truly European hotel experience, we really enjoyed staying at Berghotel Kockelsberg. The staff was very welcoming and the room was comfortable an clean. Breakfast was well stocked with many choices. Best of all was the view overlooking the Mosel and the Trier valley. Although the hotel is a good 10 minute ride outside of town, it was well worth it to get away from the congestion of the old city and take the drive up the hillside. We'd definitely stay here again.

I left a toiletry kit in the room, and they both kind and efficient at working with me and customs to have it returned. Thank you!
