Hotel in a lovely area.
Helene Hon 01/07/2017 18:50Hotel in six buildings, mostly old. The river around the hotel. Large room, Nice beds, good with separate toilet and shower.
We were a bit disappointed because the view was a roof and it was connected to our room. That was not ok, espacially for the price.
The breakfast was excellent with everything (nearly) you want to eat.
Parkinggarage and just 10 euro.
Hard to find the way to the hotel by car.
Disappointed with service
Britt Con 30/06/2017 12:37Checked in June 2 with my husband after a long day driving. When we arrived and were about to park there were no tickets in the machine to the parking garage. We called for help and a male person from the reception managed to open the gate so we could park. At the reception we were not greated with a welcome as is common at most hotels. Just, what is your name and then we were given the keys. We asked at the reception if we need a reservation for the restaurant and was given the advice to go and check ourselves. At the restaurant we asked for a table and reluctantly we were given one. The woman serving our table was not particularly friendly but we eventually got what we had ordered. At the end of the meal I asked for the bill and after twenty minuets or so had to ask again and after more than half an hour in total the bill arrived and I waited a bit longer as I wanted to put the bill to the room and when I finally got the the correct paperwork I was told to print my name in a very abrupt tone. Needless to say I was very upset and of course these events will taint my opinion of the hotel. The location is perfect and the room ok but I was expecting more.
A lovely hotel in a lovely setting
Chandolinon 08/06/2017 19:56The Hotel Bergstrom is a lovely and very interesting hotel set in several buildings on a river. Our room was fine. Excellent dinner in their restaurant, champagne mustard soup (too mustardy for me, but my husband liked it), pike-perch on black lentils (absolutely delicious) and another fish that was also delicious.
Every year in May....
Henrik Son 17/05/2017 15:04I return to this wonderful place. 15 years in a row says it all. Great food. Great rooms. Great service, great conference accommodations.
Look forward to next year.
Don't forget the asparagus during the spring.
Absolutely deserving of 5 stars
followthekidon 25/01/2017 21:48We booked two rooms in this historic hotel just before Christmas. What a delightful choice it was. Our rooms were in a building just across the foot bridge from the main building. Both rooms, which were spacious with generously sized sitting areas and large, contemporary bathrooms, looked out onto the canal, the many remaining medieval buildings, and the crane that served the salt works centuries earlier.
The walk to the old city center and Christmas markets was short. One is hard-pressed to find a more picturesque Medieval town in Germany, and this hotel is part of that ambience.
We were fortunate to have been able to schedule our arrival for a Sunday, when the hotel offered a special package that includes a fixed price dinner in elegant surroundings, as well as breakfast the next morning, for a very reasonable rate. Service was consistently excellent at the hotel. Our big regret was not having time to stay longer. This is one of very few hotels in our European travels that really deserves 5 stars, for it offers a unique experience.
