Really good value
DropsofJupiter10on 06/08/2017 05:38The rooms are big and spacious, our bathroom had a fantastic rain shower head and a nice deep bath, the bed was comfy and not to soft. The breakfast is a bit of a let down, but the carvery in the evening is really nice!
We had 3 nights here and I would stay again!
Surprisingly good
Leithrison 04/08/2017 14:56I have read some of the reviews for this hotel - some not very complimentary. I thought is was perfectly acceptable. Yes, some of the plaster work in corridors and on ceilings looks a bit dated these days. Paper thin walls - this is somewhat exaggerated, no worse than many hotels these days. The cubicles in part of the dining room with their call bells have been criticized - it's fine. It doesn't have a particularly good location - our room at the front had a nice view over the rooftops of Merthyr Tydfil but it also looked at a business units park. There again, many Premier Inn type hotels are the same. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food good - the carvery at dinner time was superb value and quality. I would definitely stay there again if in that area.

tara pon 17/07/2017 00:35We arrived in Merthyr to spend the night as a stepping stone to another destination next day. We found this hotel to be the only one available in the town.
We found the staff really friendly and helpful. Yes the place is dated with its decor , admittedly, but it was clean and we all had a very comfy sleep. So I can't fault it to be honest. Breakfast was tasty too.
Great hotel with excellent service
Poorlygirl61on 02/06/2017 19:45Although a little dated, you cannot fault the Bessemer for service and location to the Brecon Beacons. Carvery very good and extremely popular with the locals and Ellen seems to run the hotel single handed! She was there from early morning until late at night and extremely friendly and helpful, along with all her colleagues. Great little hotel.
