More basic then expected!

Firstly I want to say the welcome was lovely, the gentleman was very friendly and helpful and gave all the needed information for breakfast / dinner etc.

The rooms were slightly smaller then expected and a little basic but had everything you needed for a good nights sleep.

We all slept well and the showers were lovely and hot so those are big ticks with us !

We didn't have the breakfast as we have a fussy 6yr old and felt that €8.50 per person was slightly more then we wanted to spend. There may of been a reduced rate for children but we didn't ask.

We compared it with another hotel we had stayed in and for about the same amount of money this one came out second.
Breakfast not being included in the price does make it more expensive.

It wouldn't be my first choice for staying in again but I would if I needed to as there wasn't anything majorly wrong with it.

Very basic stopover hotel

Clean hotel but I had booked for family of 2 adults and 3 kids through a booking website. When we arrived, there were only 4 beds (between 2 rooms) and I had to use a blow up mattress we happened to have in the car for the ferry crossing. Staff did very little to try and help. At the (pre-paid) breakfast the following morning, all the hot food was gone when we got down stairs exactly half way through the two hour breakfast window. No more hot food was brought out. There was no lift to the first floor either, which my wife would normally need.

Convenient and welcoming.

Arriving in Ouistreham from a [one hour late] ferry, the hotel was an easy drive from the port and a welcome diversion from the long ferry journey.

The hotel closes its doors at ten p.m. and any late arrivals have to phone a number to gain access. A very pleasant lady provided us with a key and a welcome rest ensued.

The bedrooms are small but perfectly adequate and wifi is provided free of charge. Great shower gets you going in the morning and an excellent breakfast followed that up. The breakfast choice was substantial and wide-ranging and no-one could fault it. At breakfast we were greeted by Romane, the lovely young lady in charge, who had previously handled our email inquiries and she gave every impression of actually being interested in yet another stranger passing through her hotel. She is a valuable asset to the hotel group.

Altogether, this would make a fine stop-over for anyone visiting Caen or coming and going through the ferry port. Great value for money.

Overnight stay

The hotel is easily accessible by car, with ample parking on site. Few minutes drive away from Caen centre and places of interest. Reception personnel where friendly and helpful, breakfast was ok and rooms were clean.
Only improvement I'd recommend would be improved sound insulation, since anyone speaking in the corridor could be clearly heard.

Ideal base for exploring

Our group of 13 motorcyclists stopped at this hotel for 4 days whilst we explored Normandy and went to the Tour De France. The hotel is set off a main road and there is ample car parking available. A couple of minor issues, the restaurant does not open for dinner over the weekends (Fri-Sun) and we were expecting our group to eat here, However, after explaining this to the manager ANTOINE he kindly offered to open it for our group and he provided a great meal, fantastic service.
The rooms are small, but very clean and comfortable; there are no coffee/tea making facilities though. Shower was very good.
Breakfast was excellent and well worth the money.. so overall a great stay at a very good price.
