The room and bathroom are spacious and clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. The restaurant offers good food and the prices are also good.Near the hotel you can find a gas station and a Penny Market.

Good hotel , Bad sleep quality

Stayed for two nights at the hotel. It is at the city entrance, at 10 minute from the Castle (by car) (~30 mins by foot). There is one shop near the hotel and a gas station. The hotel has free parking spaces.

The hotel is nicely decorated and quite clean. Room was clean and cozy, there were towels, a small fridge, hair dryer, clothes hangers.

Breakfast was ok, could be better, but was ok. Ate twice in the restaurant: the food was good, but i felt there was a big delay between servings. Also the house wine I ordered had a muddy pale yellowish colour and a funny taste.

The problem for me was the sleep quality. The rooms are not properly insulated so you can hear everything. I was woken up each night by noisy hotel clients who came back from the city (pubs) at 2 am (they talked too loud, they slammed doors and then talked too loud again). Even the toilet flush at 4am sounds too loud. The second night i was able to sleep only four hours.

All in all for me: good hotel, bad sleep quality.

Sleepless night, unconcerned management

We stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a tour group. The hotel appears to host a number of large functions. We were told on arrival that they had functions on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Consequently our party of about twenty dined in the basement.

On the Saturday night the function was an eighteenth Birthday Party, complete with D.J. The music was very loud and getting some sleep was very difficult particularly if one was on the first floor, as we were. Just after four a.m. The noise increased thus waking anybody who had managed to get to sleep. I went to reception to ascertain when the music would stop to be told "about five a.m. But maybe later, it depends". I explained that the noise was preventing me from sleeping but this only elicited an apology and an explanation that nothing could or would be done about it. Now it is my view that something could have been done by turning down the level of the base. Why that would not be done was clearly a decision made by management. I asked to speak to the manager and a phone call was made. Despite describing the highly unsatisfactory situation the manager offered no solution. The phone was passed back to the receptionist who reiterated that the music would continue until 5.30 a.m. I expressed my dissatisfaction and returned to bed.
At breakfast many in the party complained about the noise preventin them sleeping. One had phoned reception and one, like me, visited reception. Collectively our discomfort was ignored.

Whilst it would be wrong to say that this hotel is in overall terms worth staying in, it does have some good features. Nevertheless with such blatant disregard for the comfort of guests by the management means that only a one star review is justified.

Hotel or disco?

Friendly staff, good food, clean, comfortable rooms. why then just one star? because on both of the nights we stayed the normal dining are was used for local functions. Although this meant we were relegated to a windowless basement, this wasn't a major problem. But the thumping and relentless bass of the disco on the second night until gone four o clock was. Local management were indifferent - unwilling to lower the volume Or even say when the noise would stop so most of our group were frazzled the next day. If you're going to continue as both a hotel and a disco you should introduce a few basic rules to avoid such problems in future. very disappointing. our holiday company - Brnightwater - should not use this hotel again until this has been sorted.

good hotel, nice staff

A nice hotel, great and nice staff, we have a la carte breakfast, good but a little poor, clean rooms, nice decorated, at 15 minutes near Huniazilor Castle with car, 25 minutes walk from nearest supermarket, BRD ATM across the street, at the hotel you can pay with credit card.we stay here second time, so we like and recomand this little hotel in Hunedoara.
