Lovely weather!, great value food!!, comfortable hotel, pleasant staff (but not 4* in look and feel).
honestFoodie2014on 04/08/2017 23:24We stayed 14 days in September 2016. Great impressive reception area, friendly staff always ready to help and assist, amazing value for the food (fully inclusive deal), amazing selection of food on offer at both breakfast, lunch and dinner and to a high standard (very impressed!). The rooms were comfortable and cleaned regularly. But the hotel did not have the 4* look and feel. The excursions on offer were very limited.
The majority of the guests were Spanish, which we had no problem with whatsoever, but they were not friendly at all, and anyone could easily get the impression 'Brits' were not welcome? Which was a surprise as unlike other parts of Spain we've been. Hotel bar closed too early at 11pm and no coffee facilities in rooms or in reception once bar closed. Also the sauna area was smelly so I avoided it.
The hotel manager was a great guy, friendly and professional and happy to chat.
Mojacar was just lovely and hot, we had a great time (off season when quiet). We'd go to the hotel again if we got the same travel deal as it was great value for us.
I want to go back already!
Hannah7735on 02/08/2017 09:37I cant not believe all the bad reviews this hotel gets. It was absolutely fantastic!
ALL the staff were lovely. Friendly and polite, and they try their best to speak English. Lots of food choice, even our fussy daughter was happy haha, food was great, drinks great, ice creams great! the entertainment we saw in the evening was mainly Spanish but some bits were in English. it was still great to watch as you knew what was going on. my husband joined in water polo, and I joined in water gym. lovely beach right across the road.
Disappointed
kimocymron 30/07/2017 18:52Just returned from this hotel, the hotel and pool area very clean food and drinks good Some of the staff very rude Our grandchildren very disappointed because kids club all in Spanish as was all the entertainment ,kids could not participate in daytime activities because again only Spanish was spoken it was blatantly obvious British people were not welcome here
Should be called worst mojacar
jeantonyWalsallon 27/07/2017 21:31Well where do we start.Isobel the receptionist who checked us in was really nice as was the English girl who works in restaurant where you check in,and one barman but never got his name that's where the niceties end.this hotel is just for Spanish tourists not really for us,all the entertainment was in Spanish even the bingo so how were you supposed to join in.food could have been of really good quality if what was supposed to be hot food had been hot was always cold.the hottest food was when we got stir fry which we ate most nights.and salads at lunch.looked at the burgers edges were cooked middle was raw.i can understand the other reviews which were true just wished we had read them before booking.most nights trying to get served at the bar and they would ignore us,only in our opinion was there really one really nice bartender wished we had got his name.kids were running riot,no parental control.a few kids kicking footballs about in the evening when we were sitting trying to relax,I kept being hit with the ball and these kids seemed to think it was funny.most of the people we sat with said they would not return because of there attitudes towards us.if they want the english there then show us a bit more respect.rooms were nice though.but only had sheets and towels changed once in the whole week.
Disappointing
Stella Bon 27/07/2017 11:43We only booked a week, this hotel was a very Spanish hotel, also the staff didn't speak English , not helpful, so this was really hard going, We found the them very rude not helpful, at meal times asking veggie option wasn't good, no help at all, they did have some labels on but that was on the vegetables saying gluten free ! ( joke)
We are sea people this also was a disappointment , we were lead to believe that the hotel had some bit of the beach, they didn't , opposite was lots of umbrellas & beds we sat on them settled in & with in 5minutes a lady came & asked for 10 Euro's each , didn't explane anything, showed us a ticket which said 5 euros crossed out & put 10 euros , & no Spanish were charged at all. So we went & bought our own umbrella which shouldn't happen! The beach was stones & shingles very difficult to walk on painful. everyone had shoes on ( we were not told this) so it was hard to go into the sea , also had a very big drop once you went in No sign saying this! If you had children this was very dangerous. At night no where to go out in the sticks! Swiming pool not enough shade or umbrellas, lucky we bought one, the steps into the pool were ready to come no health & safety.
It said free wifi every where couldn't get wifi......
No Thomas cook book to check on things... Rep turned up at odd times in middle of the day so we never met them!
Also using a card to get in to the room & for the power for the A/C is only in use when in the room, so after all day the room is so hot you can't breath!
