Disappointed
grahamjulson 01/08/2017 07:08So much potential - but under-utilised - needs enthusiastic manager/s.
1. Rooms are very large but need maintenance. The toilet seat fell off & the makeup mirror was barely handing. There is no storage in the bathroom & the fitted sheet on the bed kept on coming off. There is an ironing board in the hallway. There is a bar in reception but not staffed, have to walk a long distance in the dark for a glass of wine. Not very well signed & very dark at night, staff except at the restaurant where they are attentive & English is good, are not very helpful. The most disappointing is the buffet breakfast. The breakfast room is a gazebo area large modern & smelt of dog. The food selection is not good nor kept at a hygienic level for chicken & meat. The gardens & buildings are beautiful & maintenance very high, why not have breakfast served in a terrace area or in one of the nicer areas & have a bar staffed for guests to have a drink when they arrive.
A bit odd theme-park hotel complex
JoonasHon 25/07/2017 18:40We stated one night in Art Hotel in suzdal. The location is good by the main road and main sights are within walking distance. Hotel itself has a vast compound with different buildings and a huge hall for breakfasts, weddings and so on. There is plenty of parking space. Our room was in a separate house on second floor (no elevator i.e. difficult with prams). Room was spacious and style was Kitch-Baroque. In bathroom there was massasing shower that didnt work that well (massasing water jets, radio out of order). Bed was good and they provided us with very good baby bed. We slept very well. Compound has bronze statues portraying lives of 1900th century Russian aristocracy. Breakfast was nothing special. Reception was fast.
Enjoyable stay
Rita Kon 16/07/2017 18:32We enjoyed a weekend stay at this very pleasant and spacious hotel and our only regret was that we were not staying longer. We booked a junior suite which was large and decorated in a more traditional style from a bygone era, nevertheless every modern facility is available. The rooms are situated in various individual buildings scattered throughout the beautifully kept grounds. There are also numerous seating areas offering relaxing areas to enjoy the summer sunshine. Breakfast was served in a large marquee with attentive staff and although more than adequate, it could be improved.
Pleasant and peaceful
TillyFloss52on 15/07/2017 19:18Stayed here for 2 nights in June as part of our tour of the Golden Ring.
Room was very comfortable and shower was good. Is set out in several blocks with parking available in each block . Ate in the restaurant one night and found it surprisingly good after reading some reviews. Breakfast was just average and the room that you ate in was like a huge marquee . Overall this was a pleasant change from the city. Was a 15 minute walk into town .
Unusual hotel but rooms good and a nightingale sang us to sleep.
astronomer-at-largeon 14/06/2017 19:53We'd seen mixed reviews of this hotel, but for a short stay it was fine. It's spread around several houses, we were in block 5 on the 1st floor (no lift). The room was quite large and had an excellent bathroom. The site is quite spread out, there are signposts, but we didn't always take the best route to reception or the street exit. Our room was fine, and we found to our amazement that we could hear a nightingale singing in the evening and much of the night from a nearby park, so we kept our window open. It's about 15-20 minutes walk to the restaurants down town. The hotel's breakfast was a bit basic, several items of a typical russian breakfast but not many for those with western tastes.
