Filthy and got a bug's bite
230FrequentTravelleron 26/06/2017 09:19You step into the room and get the impression that you went 50 years back in time, The place is extremely filthy with spider webs everywhere. I got a bug bite and think that it came from the infested mattress. The telephone, lights, radiators, nothing worked. Don't waste your money.
Pleasant stay
ELHxon 23/06/2017 13:35We stayed here for two nights during June, the room was nice, as was the bathroom and we had two good nights sleep! Breakfast was good with lots of choice, however on the second morning we ordered poached eggs and the kippers but only the eggs came. The majority of the staff seemed nice. The pool and gym were a nice added bonus! Location is a little far from Loch Lomond but overall a good stay for a good price.
Lovely Time
Del1991on 20/06/2017 06:36My wife and I stayed here for one night and found it to a most enjoyable time. The staff are all very friendly, the room was clean and tidy so can't really complain. Plenty of nice seating areas however the wifi was poor and dependant on where you are in the hotel for signal. Food was good as was the breakfast. Will stay again for a cheeky wee night away.
can be very noisy and overcrowded, due to wedding parties
DrFMuelleron 18/06/2017 12:12According to the manager, this hotel prides itself on accommodating wedding parties .. good for the hotel, not so good for other guests who want to sleep before 2am or use the common areas and other facilities of the hotel... if you are unlucky enough to stay here during a wedding party don't expect help or sympathy from the duty manager - all you will receive is the standard line "we have a license to play live music until 1am" .. more likely, like in our case, the noise will continue well beyond 1am ... this was our 1st night on a 4-day trip to the West of Scotland .. this was a very bad start but the rest of our trip (including all our other hotels) was brilliant ... we raised the matter with managers, general manager and Best Western .. only Best Western even bothered to respond but in the end did not provide a satisfactory response .. very poor
Day 1 stop on West Highland Way
Molxeson 14/06/2017 21:04This was our 1st overnight stop on our West Highland Way trek. Very pleasantly surprised as the hotel had been getting mixed reviews. We were in a very comfortable, well equipped refurbished family room with king and single beds. Modern bathroom with good shower.
Good choice at buffet breakfast in the morning and tasty porridge to order.
