Pretty good
C2183UXmatthewson 28/08/2017 16:49The rooms where very clean, beds where comfortable, location is pretty good close to a lot of restaurants and gas stations, about 45 minutes from tybee island and the beach, a little pricey for my taste, but overall really good.
Great value for our money
John Bon 24/08/2017 15:01We spent 2 nights in Savannah staying at the Best Western Central. The hotel was older but so clean and had very comfortable beds, new carpets and flooring. It is right across the street from an air force base but the noise did not bother us. It was close to the city for touring.
Never again this location
647curtbon 22/08/2017 19:32Error in billing. On line rate was less than we were charged. It was fixed at check out. We're given smoking room. When I questioned the room type assignment was told all on line bookings get smoking rooms. We were checked in and given room keys to a different room. We were awoken at 5 am by someone trying to enter our room. It was showing vacant in Best Western inventory system. Very scary experience. Nothing was offered in the way of compensation for our poor quality stay.
Lovely Overnight Stay
FancyFree55on 22/08/2017 05:50We were looking for a reasonably priced room in Savannah for a quick overnight stay while traveling north. I didn't expect much for the price, but chose Best Western Central based on its high TripAdvisor rating.
Check in was friendly and efficient. The lobby area is pretty, with an office nook in one corner and a desktop computer for guests. The buildings look newly renovated.
The parking area is huge, with plentiful parking close to your room. The lot is newly paved and painted, and the grounds are nicely landscaped. An outdoor pool looked inviting, but we didn't have time to utilize it.
This Best Western is a motel, not a hotel. All rooms face outside. We didn't hear much traffic noise, despite being three only doors away from Eisenhower Drive. The air conditioning unit drowns out street noise. (The AC worked really well on a very hot night.)
There is no elevator to second story rooms. Request a first floor room if you can't climb stairs.
We had a non-smoking king room, spacious and very well furnished. Hubby liked the easy chair and ottoman. I was comfy computing at the large desk. The free wi-fi worked well, and we found plenty of electrical outlets for charging laptops, phones, etc.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Our room had lots of lamps, a large 3-drawer dresser, two night stands, good size flat screen with a few dozen channels AND a clean remote - a very nice feature. We had a microwave, mini-refridge and a wooden luggage bench.
Amenities included black out curtains, an iron and board, coffee maker, ice bucket, hangers, hair dryer, desk phone, radio alarm clock, hangers, laundry bags, two mirrors, and a much appreciated night light in the vanity area. Every hotel should have a night light in every guest room so people aren't tripping around in the dark if they get up in the middle of the night.
The bathroom had a shower and full size tub. We liked the sink and vanity separate from the toilet/shower room. The vanity had lots of counter space for personal care items. The inn provides only bar soap and conditioning shampoo, but we bring our own organic toiletries when traveling so what the hotel supplies isn't relevant.
Towels were a little on the skimpy side, smallish and not very thick, but they sufficed. The only items lacking were a full-length mirror, safe, and a recycle bin.
The room was spotless clean, top to bottom, and looked like it had been mostly renovated - new paint, new wood-look floors, newer carpet.
Check in is 3:00 pm, and check out is 11:00 am. Complimentary breakfast is included, but we can't get up in time for hotel breakfasts.
The location is somewhat inconvenient, about five miles from the historic district and nowhere near interstate highway access. But based on the quality for the price, I'd stay here again if I was visiting Savannah.
Average
southCarolinaQueenBon 21/08/2017 18:31Renovations needed ; old HVAC causes allergies; mold and mildew in the atmosphere AC unit extremely loud, causes poor quality of sleep. Breakfast was okay. Nice , helpful staff on site ; price was 107; for the quality of hotel it was worth 50 pr 60 dollars
