What People are saying

Passing Through

Got this hotel at the last minute as I was approaching Shrevport. I thought that it might be ok. I was disappointed. It was a place to lay your head down but that is about it. Hotel is older and needs TLC. Breakfast was COLD. Cold eggs, cold sausage, cold coffee, and the orange juice had to be watered down. The selection was great for breakfast, but not good quality.

Nice Rooms, But Take The Stairs To Get There

Bigbill69on 16/08/2017 07:25

The Chateau Suites Hotel is located just a block off of I-20
and centrally located to six of the seven Shreveport/Bossier
City casinos. I enjoy trying out different hotels/motels when
I visit "the boats" six to eight times a year and make my
reservations mainly by location and price since I hate to
waste money just to sleep for a little while. That was the
reason for trying out the Chateau Suites on my most recent
visit - location and price.

Overall, my stay at the Chateau Suites wasn't bad, especially
based on the varied ratings of previous Trip Advisor visitors.
There were quite a few negatives about the place, but also
some things that I liked. My room was very clean, spacious,
comfortable, and nice, even though it could have used some
up-dating. The A/C was very loud, but worked great and the
bathroom was clean with a very good shower. The room
had a comfortable sitting area, a small microwave, and a TV
that was ok with a remote control that wasn't. There was a
small coffee maker which wasn't cleaned out (the old filter
still in) from the last time it was used. Not good! My main
complaint was trying to locate a working ice machine. I had
a room on the 3rd floor with an "out of order" sign on that
ice machine. I walked up to the 4th and 5th floor. Not work-
ing. Finally, on the 2nd floor I found one that worked.

After checking-in, I had a problem getting to my room since
the elevator didn't work right and I had to get help from the
desk staff. Still, I was afraid I was going to get stuck. She
said they had problems with it sometimes since the hotel
was "probably built" in the '50s. My guess is that was the
last time the elevator had been serviced.

The hotel has a free breakfast, but not being an early riser
and do not get-up to eat a morning meal, I can't say what
is served or if it's any good or not. The hallways were
clean, but could definitely use more light, not only for
safety reasons, but to make the place more inviting.

As I've previously stated, the Chateau Suites wasn't bad
overall, but my advise to others considering a visit is to
take the stairs to and from you room and bring your own
ice.

Worst Hotel, You Get what you pay for!

First off this place has two separate buildings. Our family asked to be on the same floor and was told it wasn't a problem. When we got there part of the family stayed in main building and the others went to annex building. Now we in the rooms and they are crap! Old old! The bathroom in the room in the annex building was deplorable. It leaked and water got every where. The room in the main building was musty. The bathroom was fine. The sofa bed had no linens on it and when the front desk was called they said they had none. They also said they had no towels! How the heck does a hotel run out of towels! It wasn't till 10am that I finally got towels. Also they ran out of toilet paper as well, I was like MF what the hell kinda ratchet place is this. Don't bother! Do yourself a solid and check into the holiday inn across the street!

gone down, and then some

We have been staying at this hotel for around 20 years. It was once a great place to stay, wonderful location, especially for the Red River Revel, and the shuttle service was awesome. Kevin always had a restaurant recommendation, or a music club... anyway, they have apparently given up on trying to run a decent business. The place was filthy, not dirty, but unsanitary. There were people in the parking lot that looked like they were conducting business transactions. We had taken two granddaughters to visit the Sci-Port museum, and had planned a diner out. My wife and I decided it would probably not be a good idea to stay after dark, and drove back home. I asked for a refund, as we were not in the room but 30 minutes, and was met with a blank stare, so we just packed up and left. Specific issues, other than a strong unsafe feeling, included nonworking television, hole in the sheet rock wall, mismatched furniture cushions, broken kitchenette fixtures, thick mold in toilet, smell of urine in the elevator, sticky everything... we never pulled the sheets down on the bed. My advice would be to drive on by and sleep in your car if you have to.

Ladies on the Loose!

Karen Jon 26/06/2017 19:45

Spent about three day on a Ladies weekend trip. The beds were nice and comfortable. The rooms did show so wear and needed to be updated. The staff was nice and helpful. Used the shuttle service to go across the bridge and shop at the outdoor shopping strip on the river. The driver looked after us and came right back to pick us up after we called. Only had to wait about 5 minutes.
