Beware of train tracks
Wisconsinite01on 16/07/2017 16:00We stay in many hotels each years. Over the course of years have had some loud hotels. The train tracks RIGHT BEHIND the hotel that going past about every 30 minutes, is the worst. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night ( another thing we have never done) as even with the fan blasting we could still hear the train.
A minor side note, they have cable, but it's only a few channels.
Great Value! Friendly Staff, Clean Rooms, Great Pool!
Gillian Son 15/07/2017 03:12I have been staying at the Red Roof Inn off and on for about 6 months, as I travel for work. Vicki and her staff have always been extremely welcoming, helpful, and friendly! The rooms and grounds are well maintained, clean and the rates are great! No extra charge for dogs, and no breed restrictions. Parking is free and there are several eating establishments close by! Two doors down is Fatty's, a local hangout with a great outdoor patio and cold beer. I cannot say enough good about this place! Check it out for yourself!
Annual Trek to Northern Illinois area.
Robert Aon 07/07/2017 11:54Have stayed in the area at least one night each summer five of the last six years. The hotel in Sycamore we enjoyed patronizing on most of those visits had closed ... so we were forced to try a different place. I don't like change ... so I was skeptical when my wife chose the Red Roof Inn in such close proximity to a large college. Even though it was summer vacation for most of the students ... I figured since we would be staying on a Saturday night ... there would still be more commotion than I wanted to deal with. While taking our bags to the room in the early afternoon ... I noticed some younger folks sitting by the pool enjoying their alcoholic beverages ... and that only added to my concern regarding a good nights sleep. So ... in a nutshell. Returned from our visit to our friends place in Kirkland around 7:30 pm ... to our ground floor room ... right across from pool area and waited for the party to begin. Waited all night for something to complain about ... but it never happened. Slept very well that night ... with only the touch of a passing motorcycle on the busy main thoroughfare. Awoke totally surprised and commented to my wife about how quiet the night had been. Checked out around 8 am ... and that was it. Now ... I am sure ... when the Northern Illinois University students return from summer break ... things will be different. But ... my goodness we were only two about two blocks away from Husky Stadium ... so you can expect things to be a bit more crazy when football season arrives. But the biggest plus for this facility ... is the staff. Very, very courteous and helpful ... just the way you would want them to be. Our hats off to them for their effort to make folks from out of town feel "at home". All in all ... a surprisingly very pleasant stay ... and I hope others who chose to stay here have the same kind of experience.
