Stayed Many times never beed disappointed

Friendly and helpful staff. I've stayed here at least 4 times since 2010 and every time I've had a well furnished clean room , including one in the coach house. The bar area is smart and has an outside elevated terrace which is great on a summer evening. I've always been with a group on a set menu (with a few choices) and the food is well presented and served hot. The breakfasts are good. Bit of an odd location in the middle of a residential development but convenient for the local attractions

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights eating here for the first night, had the steak special for 2. Sirloin steak was very tasty but the peppercorn sauce was not as good!!! Need more body chef!!! And lacked any taste hence us asking to mustard!We found staff on the whole very helpful. Check in a little slow!!

Went for a business lunch as it is a pleasant venue I have been previously for drinks. Ordered a ' handcarved gammon ham with wholegrain mustard sandwich' hahaha, I think this was a bit of a joke.
The thinnest cheap bread with one slice a thin ham (certainly NOT handcarved) with a too generous smear of what I would describe as bog-standard English mustard.. Served with shop bought coleslaw and very unappealing crisps.
For this I was charged a whooping £6.95... Never again...

Average Hotel

The hotel is well situated with a view over the town but the standards in the rooms are only just average as the bath was dirty looking small beds in double bed in hotels the smallest should be king at least carpet looking tired and I'll fitted only half a roll of toilet paper in my opinion it would only rate as 2 star

I'm sorry but this hotel is awful, I travel a lot for my business and this rates as one of the worst hotels I have stayed in.
Firstly I was put in a room within the coach house, a distance from the main hotel, it was raining and let's face it, who wants to have to walk up a hill in the rain to get some food?
That takes me onto the food, just dreadful, even the olives were poor, and the oil was definitely some cheap brand they picked up from somewhere, and how do you get a Caesar Salad wrong, just vile. Plus they brought out my starter and main together! I mean come on, this is basics!
The room cost £85 for a single room, I don't mind a single bed but the room absolutely stunk. It was damp smelly and cobwebs decorated the walls and ceilings.
The walls are so thin that I could hear next doors bed springs. Seriously this is bad. I complained about both my room and meal in the evening and nobody seemed that bothered.
The guy on the bar tried to be accommodating but was clearly embarrassed by the situation.
I'll be making a formal complaint to the management I'm afraid.
