Unexpected charm

I wouldn't normally attribute character or charm to best western, but its apparent that this hotel wasn't always a best west and there are hidden shadows of the fact that it was once a much loved family run inn. We stayed in the annexe outside comprising 4 modern rooms that are a great use of space, affording all that could be needed without any extras but doing everything it needs to on the tin. Cleanly.

Breakfast is overpriced at £11 and no effort is made with it at all. Canned mushrooms.. bouncing poached eggs, generic sliced bread... With a short walk in to Norwich, certain to find much better.

Night staff highly intelligent and friendly, but there seems to be something less than hospitable around a lot of Norwich people..l they can't wait to clean things away and effectively get rid of you. I spent a whole weekend scratching my head trying to get over it...

I have just returned from another working weekend in Norwich were I stayed at the George Hotel for the second year running . It was again made by the Staff who make sure you are treated with good old fashioned Service . The Hotel is having some TLC work carried out at the moment but I hope they keep the charm and character you get from this place . Good Value for the money .

Bog standard for a night's kip

The hotel is a little dated, but the bed was comfortable and okay to get your head down for a night. Shocked to find a black makeup mark over the supposedly clean towels. The one thing I would advise is not to get the breakfast - £11 is a rip off to say the least for undercooked bacon/sausages and if you're only getting a few items from the menu, it's still at the set price. Staff were friendly and helpful though.

Comfortable, Clean and Friendly

We stayed here for a couple of days while attending our son's graduation. Our room was light and airy, and the twin beds were very comfortable. We were lucky to have air conditioning - in fact I believe we were in the first room to be connected. Nice big bathroom. The only thing I found missing were bedside lamps. The service in the bar and restaurant was excellent. We would stay here again.

The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. I had a single room. Clean and comfortable with en suite, but in my opinion, slightly overpriced. Breakfast was good, continental and full English option. Very enjoyable. My only grumble was bring woken up at 7:30 by the floorboards and noise from the room above, but can't really hold that against the hotel itself.
