My gf and I booked for 2 nights, as arrived in Beijing at 3am Saturday morning and had a midnight flight same day (Sunday morning technically).
Found the concierges asleep in front of reception, but as someone who works nights, I sympathise and dont think thats a problem. Our room was not good. The air con didnt work. When I say it didnt work, its not like it didnt turn on, when I put it on it stated the room temperature as 24 and so i set the temperature to be achieved at 20 and put the setting on cool and maxed out the flow. Listening to the unit flowing just fine, but couldnt feel any cool. So tired, and with it being late and the lack of English the staff had, we went to sleep and hoped it would start blowing cool air. By morning the room temp was 27, and the place was a sauna. I've used the same air con panel in 4 other hotels in China so far, so i'm confident the problem was not me. We had to open the door to let cool air in from the corridor.
We awoke to find 2 large bugs behind the curtains (the windows were closed the entire time we were there), the carpet was dirty and the floor tiles were loose. The safe was locked shut and so unusuable, and the do not disturb button didnt work so we were woken. We tried to book transport to the airport 9 hours in advance of our flight as the poster at reception suggested free transport if requesting 4 hours in advance, but were told it wasnt available.
The staff were friendly despite a lack of English and they arranged us a ride to the airport for 50¥ (about £6) and the place for us did a job. But not a 4* hotel

I'm glad we only spent one night here

As we needed somewhere to rest near the airport for our last night we ended up here. I'm not sure it was such a good idea.

Check-in was a pain. The confirmation I'd got (booking through TripAdvisor / Best Western) said that my card would be charged before I travelled. Imagine my surprise when the hotel demand I pay the full amount before staying. t turned out that I hadn't, but I had to log onto my online banking to make sure that I'd not been charged anything. Getting a refund would be difficult after leaving the country.

Once that was sorted they said our bags would be brought up to the room. 45 mins later and two phone calls to reception our bags still hadn't been brought up (we needed things from them), apparently because the person who does it was on an airport run. It wasn't until we asked if anyone else can do it that they sent someone else to do it. I should mention, if they hadn't offered to bring our bags up for us I'd have done it myself. You don't offer to do something and then not do it.

Room service was also a bit of a problem. They didn't have the ingredients for what I wanted on the menu, then when we found something to eat we were told they couldn't bring it to our rooms because someone had a bad leg. We made our way down to the restaurant to find no other customers and several perfectly able-bodied members of staff. There seems to be a culture of "It's not my job" here, rather than putting customers first.

The room itself was tired, scruffy and the carpet looked pretty filthy. The TV looked like it might have been out of date 15 years ago. I'd not seen an analogue TV signal in many years even in much cheaper hotels.

When checking out things took a little longer than we'd expected and the shuttle bus driver was quite rude to my wife.

This place does have a free shuttle bus service to the airport, so it did serve well as somewhere to rest before our flight back to the UK, but I wouldn't stay here again.

No reservation, so you no stay here...(Yes I do)

First off, I printed off the booking that I made with my corporate travel agency with the hotel address in Chinese. The taxi insisted that he had no idea where the hotel is.. and the RUDE taxi stand attendant just shouted at me to call the hotel for instructions. That's when the fun began...

First off, when I called the hotel, the operator spoke no English (shocking that the hotel is advertised as an airport hotel).. and with my pidgen Chinese, I managed to ask her to tell the taxi driver the address. She then asked me if I had a reservation, to which I said yes. So gave her my name, and advised her that the reservation is for the night before because its past midnight when I arrived and was trying to get to the hotel.

She then said that she could not find my booking. She couldn't understand my name - and it only has 3 letters in it. She asked who I booked with. So I said I booked through in USA. She then said, call them and not us. I asked to speak to the manager. She said all go home. I hung up and found the confirmation # (which is #120411703) and called again and spoke to another operator (apparently there's no one at the front desk).. who said that she can't check because all the computers are shut off. So I asked them to just tell the taxi attendant what the address is and I will sort it out upon arrival. To which she told me : "You no reservation, you no stay here". I was absolutely fuming at this point.

I am a Diamond Best Western Rewards member and I have never been spoken to like that by anyone. And then the agent hung up !!!

I decided to forgo my booking - and let Best Western deal with it and made a booking for the Sheraton instead...

This is unacceptable. How can the hotel put people with zero knowledge of English or professionalism in your hotel?

Avoid - or risk being told off.

great value, clean room , good staff, convenient to airport

I enjoyed the free shuttle to the airport however no english was spoken or understood by the driver. Early morning staff not as organized as the day staff. Rooms was excellent, clean, bed was comfortable, very close and convenient to airport.
