Ok but sure there must be better options lacks an attentive eye
dawn hon 02/08/2017 15:59The hotel states that you can check in at any time which was a plus as we would arrive mid morning and need to change before going to a function. On arrival we checked in relatively quickly but were surprised when we got to the room and found the door wedged open with dirty laundry.
We spoke to the cleaner who picked up the sheets and towels saying she had just finished in there.
As we looked further we had to contact her again as no clean towels were left.
This in all took about half hour to sort not a great start we were not in long before leaving for the function so it was not until we returned that night we realised the next problem.
The door to our room and the next one were so close that whenever they opened or closed their door it sounded like someone trying to get into our room.
The room was fairly comfortable once you got used to the noise from adjacent rooms and as it was a one night stay we put up with it.
Also the rooms are down a windy narrow warren of corridors with a small lift that is quite slow.
Good location for centre of town but not as near to race course as we were led to believe.
Staff are polite but lack warmth.
Not great but would stay again...
Bethany Lon 31/07/2017 22:15So on arrival it's not very easy on the eye. The entrance and bar area is really nice and well decorated. Once you reach the sleeping spaces it all goes down hill with a musty smell everywhere and very dated and tired decor. It's needs refurbishment badly. The staff are fab however, so helpful and friendly. In our room our shower and taps would not turn off and we had to get someone to come and do it and they came up within two minutes of asking for help and the same when we needed toilet roll. The location is great for the town but will need a taxi to the racecourse which the hotel will organise for you and costs about £9. The massive bonus for us was the view from our window. We were at the back of the hotel and it overlooked a stables and gallops so we woke up able to see the horses being exercised which we particularly loved so this made the stay. We would stay again however.
A Day at the Stables!
883bobberon 29/07/2017 17:54Stayed one night at Heath Court while we visited Sir Mark Prescott's racing yard next door. We had drinks, dinner and breakfast and were looked after really very well. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful to a fault. The food was very good and our room was fine - nice and clean with decent facilities.
I would be happy to recommend Heath Court to anyone - well done!
Comfortable hotel with very attentive staff
Ian Son 26/07/2017 18:28I stayed here for two nights in a single room which had a window into an internal corridor which was a bit strange. However, the air conditioning worked well and the room was OK although the decor was a little tired. The shower was not much more than a trickle. Breakfast was very good with whatever you wanted cooked to order.
Excellent Stay
LizzieWheelon 26/07/2017 18:05Had an amazing stay at this hotel for the July Cup in Newmarket. The room was more than adequate and the staff could not have been more friendly. We were told we could not check in until 2.00 pm but we arrived around 12 and was told our room was ready.
The breakfast was especially good with more than enough choice and all freshly prepared.
It was ideally situated in Newmarket just off the High Street, where the buses shuttle you too and from the racetrack.
Would we stay again - we have already booked for next year.
