Great hotel centrally located
rory_fraseron 31/07/2017 07:46Stayed 2 nights at the hotel and had a wonderful stay. Room was in the attic which gave great view overlooking the river valley and cathedral.
Being an old medieval town this city has many churches so expect to hear bells chiming often.
That said this adds to the character of the place.
Hotel was excellent and had a good breakfast. Staff speak English but if you know a little French you'll have no problems.
Room was very comfortable but as I had a attic room with Velux windows it was low on one side but I'm 6' tall and this did not bother me
Switzerland is expensive and the hotel rate seemed to be average for the area.
Lots of good restaurants close by if you don't mind walking down the hill past the cathedral towards the river
Fribourg is very picturesque and well worth the visit. Not very wheel chair friendly as it has many cobbled roads and steep hills but did seem to have a very efficient and frequent bus service.

b3x10on 03/06/2017 00:06Hotel is nice and clean, room was adequate and very clean. Right next to the clock tower! Noisy but not in the night so it's OK.
One bus ride, about three stops gets you to the train station. Very convenient. Bus stop just outside the hotel.
Very central and convenient hotel
Peter Bon 25/05/2017 10:25Fribourg is very nice city with a beautiful, romantic Old Town. Hotel de la Rose is just some steps away, just opposite the Cathedral and very close to the pedestrian and shopping area. A number of restaurants are just nearby.
The rooms are ok, mine offered even a nice view to the cathedral. When I stayed there, the hotel was fully bookend and a good breakfast was served.
Parking may be a problem as the hotel is really central.
Charming location
Jackie Mon 21/04/2017 09:56The hotel is well located in the centre of old Fribourg, lovely cobbled street, charming buildings. The cathedral is impressive but bear in mind that it chimes though the night so if you're a very light sleeper take earplugs. The room where I stayed on the 4th floor was tiny, one single bed and a very small bathroom with shower but clean and adequate for a couple of nights. Breakfast was continental and plentiful with decent coffee.
Top recommendation, historical hotel with good service.
Alpax23on 26/03/2017 21:54Stayed two nights in March, 2017, room at the front of the hotel. We reserved a large "triple" room (worth the extra cost) which, after we folded up the extra bed, gave us a roomy place. Right on the street, but not noisy. Clean, very good service at the front desk, especially from the dark-skinned young lady. Several fine restaurants within walking distance. Parking in front of the hotel costs 12 francs a day, but the convenience is worth the cost. Three beautiful churches, just across the road. We'll stay here again.
