Rooms are spacious, hotel is really a gem

tank1050on 27/05/2017 21:22

This hotel is in a quiet location, not easily found but it is a large hotel with spacious rooms. There is a large seating area with a swivel flat screen and desk and mini- bar. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The hotel is either new or newly redone The breakfast was excellent and had a good variety. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of parking in the back.

So ein Erlebnis

I so loved the hotel...We booked our Suit telefonish, but although they wrote our names wrong...nd it took sometime to register us at the reception but...loved the way the lady handled the Situation.Coffee and tea are served free of charg to your room, sauna is free too. There's a free Tablet you can use in the room, free greetings water and soap, sewing things, shower cup...alles top and modern.only body lotion lacks..breakfast is selfsevice...though they could do better with the arranging..i recommend it fully and totally...with the staires and lift can one all over the hotel go...there's enough parking platz ...

This hotel is a wonderful place for a night or a two week stay as was my occasion.
The room was immaculate, the staff professional and helpful for every request. It is very quiet even when full.
The dining was delicious, really fine dinners, and the wait staff was courteous and friendly and professional.
I recommend this hotel without reservation.

Surprisingly Great Breakfast for a Best Western!

Rooms were updated, nice large windows, Swivel flat screen TV, bonfire at night, quiet location. Breakfast was outstanding with a large selection buffet. They even had "to go" bags for breakfast which we took for a lunch. Free wifi had two login screens, which was a bit of a pain. The night shift desk staff didn't know the best English, however it was not horrible. Parking is free, right outside the hotel.

So much to say about this hotel...

The hotel is an interesting place. It is old barracks, and it has that sort of feel, although I feel that they've done a nice job at renovating it.
The front desk staff was friendlier than any other hotel I've visited in Germany. This goes for the breakfast staff as well. They all went out of their way to accommodate us. Unfortunately, the hotel was overbooked for one of the nights during our stay, and we had to find accommodations elsewhere during the middle of our stay in Gotha. The hotel was undergoing construction, and the front desk person made a point to get us the most quiet room possible and we were grateful.
I felt that the breakfast was nice. After a week, it was a bit tiresome to have the same offerings, but they did have a daily special that changed it up some. I loved the fresh rolls, especially the ones with pumpkin seeds, and if they were out by the time we arrived for breakfast, the staff seemed happy to bring us some they had in the back.
We elected to participate in a bonfire dinner they had one evening. While the outdoor ambiance and fire were great (as was the acoustic band that played), the dinner was very expensive for the quality of food that was offered.
Toiletries in the bathroom were non-existent. Not an issue, but something to point out.
The one thing that I found most annoying was the horribly intermittent internet service. Pathetic. We counted one stretch of time where we had to log back on roughly every 90 seconds. It became such a joke that we gave up. We inquired about it at the front desk and they were very apologetic, but powerless to do anything.
We are planning on staying here again. Here's hoping either the internet is reliable, or work doesn't need me!
