Nice hotel, but the parking is a mess

This is a classic hotel, perfectly located just 200 meters from the central station, and Nordstan. The building is impressive and beatiful, even if it a little bit worn down. But i do appreciate the historic feeling about the interior. The rooms are really nice and the amenities are OK. The beds are soft and nice. The breakfast is average, I miss fresh orange juice and the variety could be greater. Some of the staff are really good, some of them a little bit tired. The restaurant is OK, even if they could have more to choose from. My biggest concern is the parking. They have a deal with the parking lot in the mall Nordstan, and it took me about 45 minutes to drive there and I was lucky to find a parking lot at all. This is a big parking facility which also serves the mall so you have to fight with all the mall visitors to find a place.
This is a nice hotel, but honestly there are some other hotels in the city which is better for the same price.

We stayed at Hotel Eggers for one night in June and loved it. It is perfectly located and the rooms are large, beautifully decorated, and everything seems brand new. We were on the second floor and had a charming balcony where we sat and enjoyed our first Aquavit overlooking the historic square. The bedroom and bathroom was gorgeous and big with lots of marble and black and brass accents. Dramatic drapes complimented large windows and french doors. The reception desk and room service was professional, kind an hospitable. This was our first time in Gothenburg so we didn't know what to expect. We arrived at the hotel via an airport shuttle, which conveniently stops 1 short block from the hotel. If you need to rent a car (Volvo preferably!), the Hertz office just around the corner, and the relatively understated yet bustling Central Station is across the street if you need the train. Wherever you want to go on foot, it is a great location. We had a beer on the outside terrace at Marcus Samuelsson's Norda which is just across the square, and a bit further afield we had a drink on the upstairs deck followed by a great dinner on the ground floor of Hotel Bellora. We took a stroll through town to the Feskekorka and back, tried the obligatory pickled herring, stopping at the beautiful Gothenburg Cathedral and window-shopped at some truly excellent stores (like Grandpa!). We wished we had more time to explore the city and check out the restaurants and cool food trucks. It looked like the hotels at Norda (Clarion Hotel Post) and the Hotel Bellora, although cool, were quite busy and loud. Hotel Eggers had a calmer vibe with a lounge and restaurant but no clubby-late night scene - which we loved. Gothenburg is a beautiful, artistic, historic city and the Hotel Eggers was really a perfect home base. Highest recommendation.

Great place in walking distance of everything

Eggers is a charming hotel with a Nice historical type decor. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Breakfast was very good and included all you can wish for and more. It's one minute walk to the pedestrian street and the same to the horticultural gardens and even to the harbour. Twenty minutes walk to Haga. The main station is across the street if you need that, but the hotel has a good deal with the nearby parking. The square can be a little noisy in the summer from bars and the occasional motor bike. But windows will keep the noise out when closed. Great helpful staff. We will definitely come back to Eggers!

This charming hotel has an atmosphere from days past, yet it is not worn down like some other old hotels. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my room had a modern standard and the charm of the past. The hotel was centrally located, a short walking distance from main attractions in gothenburg. Make sure you find a parking lot before you arrive at the hotel- if you are travelling by car. The hotel has limited parking space outside the hotel lobby. The breakfast buffet was served in the charming restaurant. Great variety in what was offered. I would say you get great value for your money. This is the perfect place for a romantic weekend for couples too

Charming and inspiring Hotel in Gothenburg

We stayed at Hotel Eggers for two nights and had a lovely time! The suite, the balcony, the breakfast and the service was excellent. The hotel is close to the train station and to the city center. We will come back for sure! We can really recommend this hotel!
