Nice Hotel, lovely staff, terrible Breakfast
Julie Bon 08/08/2017 15:18I've stayed at this hotel several times before. The staff are very friendly, always willing to help. The rooms are generally spacious, unusual in a French hotel.
Normally I don't take the breakfast option but this time we did. I thought the whole thing was pretty poor. There is no 'hot ' option except for boiled eggs and pancakes and toast of course. The boiled eggs are cook yourself..this is useless. The machine they use takes more than 10 minutes and by that time probably another diner has taken your egg anyway as no one realises it's 'cook your own' option. The coffee is very poor both from machine and filter as is the tea, mainly due to the fact that the hot water is not hot enough.
I think if the hotel is to offer boiled eggs they should cook them in advance and leave them for guests to take up rather than cook themselves , also improve the hot drinks. The hot drinks obtained from the bar are perfectly acceptable so I fail to understand why the breakfast option is so bad.
Excellent place to stay in Montreal sur Mer, for welcome, comfort and location
Keith Hon 07/08/2017 12:22From a warm and friendly welcome at reception, - to a clean, spacious and well appointed room, - with an excellent breakfast, and central location in the town, this is an ideal base for exploring the understated delights of the town.
Excellent bolt-hole
Chris Ron 03/08/2017 09:15Having stumbled on The Hermitage ten years ago this has become a base of regular long weekends to Northern France, ideal for the town or touring. Visit the coast, WWI memorials, local history, Montreuil itself.
Last minute change
Mr Bon 31/07/2017 13:33Stayed at this hotel as a last minute alteration to our plans.
Ideally situated at the heart of the small town, with plenty of free parking available.
With having to change hotels at the last minute, the receptionist was as helpful as anyone could be in welcoming us, even offering to place our room phone on free use to allow contact with the other hotel.
Overall, a clean modern hotel, in the heart of the town, with fantastic breakfast.
The only gripe I have is that there was a guests dog in the breakfast room, yapping and scratching while I ate. I don't like dogs, and I don't think that they should be where people eat. But, I suppose this is what the French do.
Perfect
Christine4186on 29/07/2017 11:02We were VERY pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel after a long drive. Unfortunately it was only for one night on our return to Calais. It is in a beautiful building, very central with plenty of parking. The bedroom and bathroom were large, modern and spotlessly clean. The bath towels were lush, large and thick and it was nice to have coffee and tea making facilities in the room. The town is lovely, very pretty and neat with lovely walks around the ramparts giving great views across the countryside. Will definitely stay again here again if in this region.
