Most Pathetic place to stay
Nasir Rajput Mon 04/06/2017 06:58My wife stayed in thus hotel and had a terrible experience. The air conditioning system was broken and the hotel management did not pay any heed.
The food was worse. The left over dinner was served in breakfast.
I reported the matter to BW headquarters in USA, who enquired from the hotel management in Islamabad but didn't get any response from them..
Poor Services - Careless Staff both at Front Office and for other services
syedshujaathussainzon 23/05/2017 07:15We checked-in 4 rooms 233, 234, 235 and 246. My immediate supervisor is fond of "Bed Tea". I told him that this hotel provides complementary bed tea. He put the notice card outside room and also informed at the reception. But dears NO TEA was served at all. Secondly bathrooms are like pigeonhole. Only small size person around 5 ft only can take shower and stretch their hands and legs.
A Community Center, Not a Hotel for Business
Temrobon 04/04/2017 17:14To begin with, I write this from a business traveler perspective. I am not from Pakistan, but I have stayed in hotels in over 25 cities around the world, and I am not overly critical. However, this hotel was really not good
• They lied. The Expedia description says: “Hotel Features: Along with an outdoor pool, this hotel has a bar/lounge and coffee/tea in a common area. A manager's reception is free.
• It does not have a pool.
• In 4 days, I never found a bar or the “manager’s reception”.
• The Internet barely exists. It is either off, or slow.
• My Pakistani colleague described it as a “Community Hotel.” That’s probably right, in that they have a lot of special events, business groups, and students running around—and my room seemed to be in the middle of a number of rooms used for non-sleeping purposes like meetings and interviews.
• Kids spent the night sleeping in the lounge, and it was common for them to be eating in the hall outside my room.
• The room was drab—just kind of worn out.
• My room smelled overwhelmingly of smelled of stale smoke. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but when they cleaned they sprayed a cheap air freshener for a second, then moved on. Pretty nasty.
• No one eats at the restaurant—I did twice and regretted it. The food is so greasy your cholesterol level will spike.
• There is major construction going on—it’s noisy, but the least annoying thing about the place.
• I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I was unable to work much, and not able to sleep much either—there were little kids running outside my door until 2:30.
All in all, it’s a lousy hotel…..but a good community center.
Fraudulent billing. Rude staff. Avoid at all costs. Not like Best Westerns in USA
Sajjad Ron 24/12/2016 13:11I decided to try out Best Western in Islamabad instead of my usual Marriott and Serena based on my experience of staying at Best Westerns in USA and Canada, and boy it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff is also actively committing blatant fraud of which the Corporate office of Best Western should take notice.
I had a confirmed reservation # 163362772 from the Best Western site for $99.75 TOTAL for the night of 20th December 2016. However when I reached the hotel the front desk manager Adnan claimed that that room was not available and he can but me up in a more expensive room at roughly $150 (not including taxes). I insisted that since I had a confirmed reservation from Best Western itself they were obliged to put me up for that rate that I reserved. Adnan held me hostage by saying that either I take that room for higher rate or there is no room; he also promised to do something about it the next morning.
Later on the same Adnan embarrassed me and my guest by refusing the guest to go to my room for tea unless he could get a copy of the guest's ID card. I told Adnan that the guest was only coming for tea and not staying with me but he refused even for the guest to go to my room for 5 minutes. Adnana insisted it was a new law, which is a lie. It was only after a lot of heated exchange that he said "if the guest is not staying overnight then it's OK".
I was planning to stay for 3 nights but decided to check out the very next day.
At the checkout next day I insisted that Adnan adjust the rate to my confiremd rate but even after talking to, what Adnan claimed was, owner (Shafqat or something) they did not.
In fact the bill had an extra PKR 3,000 which they could not explain. At first Adnan claimed that the extra amount was taxes, but the taxes were already included in the bill so they had to take it off.
I will be sending a demand to the Best Western corporate in USA to be refunded the extra amount they charged me illegally.
Bottom line: stay away from this hotel and if you do make sure you check the bill.
A reasonable option if you can't afford Serena, PC and Ramada etc
Achakzaion 28/11/2016 14:00Ideal place for business meetings, short stays at a good silent area. The hotel has nice rooms, free Wifi, TVs etc. Food quality is not that good as you observe in Ramada etc. The hotel has good pick and drop facilities to airport. One of the cons of the hotel is that it is very hard to find taxis near the hotel.
