very clean for a dog friendly hotel. friendly and helpful staffs. very spacious guest room and accessible for dogs to dispose. jacuzzi was perfect temp and clean. breakfast was good. and most of all, the location was just a quick walk to the beach. definetly a repeater!

Bad sleep, Poor insulation

I had hard time sleeping. I could hear the people above me moving around all the time. The bed was little on the hard side for my taste. Great fitness center. the employees were very kind thoughtful and helpful and the room was clean.

Spacious room with a view

Clean and comfortable room with lots of space to spread out (sitting area with sofa, table and chairs) along with fridge, microwave, and real glasses/mugs. Beds and pillows comfy. Loved balcony, ocean view, screen door. Indoor pool was clean and adequate, breakfast was generous and included waffles, yogurt, fruit, hot eggs and sausage, cereal, etc. Short walk to beach.

Drawbacks:
1) Thin ceilings - could hear loud talking and footsteps above us till after 11:30pm and again by 6am. Made sleep difficult. Recommend requesting 4th floor.
2) Loud trucks/SUVs on road to beach just a few yards from our room. Request room away from the road.
3) Needed one more blanket on the bed; should have at least been an extra in the closet. Next time ask for one at the front desk.
4) Hot tub next to pool did not look clean, so stuck to the pool.

We really enjoyed our stay and would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the noise.

Great place to stay. Close to the beach, great beds. Decent free breakfast. Great staff that wanted to make our stay great. The rooms were very quiet, no noise from the room next door. The restaurant was under a remodel, so I can't say how the food was.

Where do I begin with this review.
The good
-Not that much, the breakfast was just ok

The bad, ugly and the rest....
OMG this hotel is outdated, and overpriced
We stayed here on 8/5/2017 for one night and we couldn’t wait to leave.
As we drove up to the hotel I started to get the feeling this was a mistake, at 212.00 a night, we expected at the very least 2 - 3 stars,
The check in process gave how outdated the hotel was, I had to actually write on paper, nothing was automated.
Then we check into our rooms and start unpacking and looking over the beds to get the kids ready as we were tired and wanted to grab something quick and then sleep. I reserved a room for 5 people, 2 adults and 3 kids. it was nice they had an option for 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. We opened the sofa bed and was SHOCKED at what we saw, the mattress was so worn out and riddled with holes and marks/stains , I couldn’t t tell where they came from. The mattress was probably an inch thick , when you sat on it, your whole body felt like sitting on iron bars.
We decided to call the front desk and complain before them we looked for extra sheets and pillows, what hotel doesn’t provide extra sheets and pillows knowing we reserved for 5 people? there were none, they sent someone up with sheets, as we open the paper thin very old faded sheets, we saw holes in them , I was shocked and couldn’t believe how careless, nasty and rude this was, to even hand anyone sheets like these to use. Then we call back ask for new sheets complaining about the sofa bed and sheets saying can we have a new mattress, they said there were none. We then asked for pillows to put under and decided it was better to just get a rolling bed and move it close to couch (not sofa bed) and then make a bed out of it for the kids, it was painful. All the staff could say I that they were sorry and in the process of changing all the furniture.
My cousin got into her bed and pulled back sheets only to find more holes covered deep under the comforter, we were appalled to say this least.

This hotel should be a motel and should not in any way charge more than 100.00 a night, this was a complete disgrace to the best western chain. I have stayed at other best western properties before and although there were 5 stars, the experience never prompted me to write a review
I felt this was the step child they abandoned and forgot about.
With the amount of money they should provide way better service and amenities. I strongly believe they only reason they get away with this is because there are not many hotels in the area and they monopolize on this. I will never stay there again and do no advice anyone too.
And really ocean shores itself was cold and boring, run down town with nothing to offer, I will definitely never return,
It was the most wasted weekend I have ever spent we couldn’t wait to leave. NEVER AGAIN, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP
