What People are saying

Nice mini break

efisher2015on 05/08/2017 15:31

We stayed in room 39 which was very nice and big and the bed was very big. The shower was rubbish though - nothing more than a dribble, no pressure and no bath as alternative. The room has a little balcony and the views from the room were lovely, but because there was a wedding reception downstairs in the garden we didn't feel comfortable using it as we would be directly above the guests and on full view. We knew that the hotel was popular for weddings and didn't think much of it, but would advise people to check if any weddings taking place at time of your stay if you want to sleep! Guests were running around and shouting through the hotel corridors until quite late at night. Apart from that we had a lovely stay and we spent most of the time in Bath's centre - it was very easy to get Uber taxi into and back from Bath.

Lovely two night stay!

We stayed here as we were celebrating my parents 60th birthdays and it was around a 20 minute drive to Longleat and around a 40 minute drive to Stonehenge (although traffic at Stonehenge does make this a little longer).

The building itself is very lovely looking, tucked away (note there are two entrances, one is fine, the other is very steep, so some cars may want to avoid this) and has nice views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.

Check-in was fine (perhaps a little too formal), but never-the-less polite and informative; everyone else we met on reception was very friendly.

Rooms were a comfortable size, with plenty of storage space, lighting, sockets and a nice bathroom. We were on the third floor and the room was very hot, but you could open the window quite a lot and there was a fan, we found so long as the window was left open it wasn't too bad. The double bed was two beds put together and there was quite an obvious dip in the middle. It was quite difficult to get the shower screen resting on the bath. Towels were fab, huge, fluffy ones. Hot chocolate in the rooms was a nice touch!

Breakfast was of a very good standard, including hot, cold and extras made to order. Dinner was fantastic, it did take quite a while, but only because everything is clearly made from fresh and it isn't cheap, but no more than you'd expect to pay at a hotel and I would say definitely worth the price; the waiting staff were excellent too. The bar was well stocked (although a few local ales and ciders wouldn't have gone a miss).

Overall a very enjoyable stay which I would recommend!

One night stay

We stayed in room 39 which was classed as an executive room. Really nice outlook and the room and facilities were excellent. We even had a private balcony area off the room. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We have friends who live in Bradford on Avon so didn't eat at the hotel apart from breakfast, which was a buffet style and very good. The hotel is in a great position and the nearby canal footpath will take you to Bath or Bradford on Avon. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel and room again.

Loved it

Fantastic hotel, great parking and surrounds. Just down the road great little pub but also a little phone box where you can trade reading books -fantastic idea. Great breakfast. Comfortable room, lovely walking area.

We stayed here the night after my brothers wedding the beds were so comfortable and the rooms were well equipped. My parents stayed nights and had the afternoon tea they said it was amazing as well as the breakfast.
