Summer Stay
bruceb892on 02/08/2017 19:59Stayed at this hotel while in town for a wedding. This facility was way over priced for the actual accommodations. The A/C did not work well and the room was marginal. I would not even think of staying here in the future.
Expensive and wouldn't recommend based on price
Lisa Lon 25/01/2017 23:32We stayed here on a Thursday night in January. Our room was $140. The wallpaper was coming apart at the seams, bathroom paint was chipping, TV had a 12 inch screen and it was blurry, heat didn't blow any air (clothes were wet and couldn't dry them). Front desk attendant didn't answer the phone when I called to ask about internet nor when I had to call be refrig. wasn't working. I would say the maintenance person was very nice when he stopped by to fix refrig. issue. I wouldn't recommend this place based on the price and how the room was.
Ski Stay
pacogriffin71on 30/09/2016 20:38I have stayed at this property on and off since the 80's. The decor hasn't seemed to change, which wouldn't be an issue if the cost of a room hadn't quadrupled. The service is nice and staff friendly, but it's just not worth the price during the winter.
Not Bad but not great
rjr4945on 21/09/2016 16:14Two nights in Ludlow, two motels. Both the cheapest places I could find at the last minute. The Colonial was $129.00 (inc tax) I wouldn't call it luxurious but for a cheap place?? It was OK. Please recognize this is in the category of cheap places to stay. If I were comparing it to the 4 Seasons it might a 1. It's 3 because I have stayed at some worse and some better cheap motels. The other motel I tried this weekend was the Happy Trails. The Colonial was cleaner and better maintained, but I don't think it was worth twice the price. Location obviously counted. From the Colonial you can walk to the restaurants. The Happy Trails required a car. My chief complaint was that it's and old wood frame building that has loosened up over the years. The downstairs bedrooms picked up every sound being generated upstairs. Would I stay there again? Sure, but they are at a pretty competitive price point and I might be willing to try someplace else first. Yelp has it listed as a Best Western. I didn't see any sign that they are and I would be surprised if Best Western would accept this level of polish
We wanted an inexpensive overnight stay near Weston.
mdjkilnon 06/08/2016 01:47No breakfast as advertised. I woke up to no hot water. As it was 6am, there was no one to call. When I complained about no hot water, hotel staff did not believe me. I followed to maintenance guy to the boiler which had tripped off the night before. There was no apology or reduction in rate. Older property. I would not stay there again.
