Disappointed

Went down there for a Car Club event that was well organised and had lunch at the Hotel. Sitting in a dining area I don't expect to eat out of a cardboard container. Prices were good but food second rate. I could get a better burger at maccas and I never get their burgers. The fish and chips were good but please give me a plate. Staff not organised, appeared to have no system in place. Great location though and worth a visit but be selective with your choices.

Group lunch at the Lufra

cparremoreon 17/08/2017 08:40

Our group of 36 had a wonderful, well-priced and beautifully presented lunch at the Lufra. Every effort was made to accommodate the dietary requirements of our members including one with a uniquely restrictive diet. We were housed on one long table which was lovely and our menu, complete with various options, was printed individually with our group name. Facilities were clean and inviting and members were happy to browse the small hotel shop following lunch, being particularly keen to purchase the well-priced cards. An altogether lovely lunch stop!

Lovely family apartment with a great view.

We were in town to fish & this hotel was in perfect proximity to the Eagle Hawk Neck jetty where the boats depart from. I have to say for a tiny town, i was VERY impressed with the apartment. We had a two bedroom apartment which was well appointed. The bedrooms were small but had everything you needed. The lounge was lovely with its fire place & balcony, good sized fridge and nice little kitchen. I enjoyed being on the second level for the view, but if you don't like stairs then i would suggest asking for a bottom level apartment. We found the food in the pub to be very nice. Especially when you take into account how small this town is! There was parking out the front of our room which was also handy. As other reviewers said the main building is looking a little tired but i did not think it detracted from the overall stay. The apartments are much newer and modern. Overall a lovely stop over and perfect for our needs.

Always a great place to stay on the Tasman Peninsula

Great location close to Pirates Bay and Port Arthur with reliable accomodation, meals and of course beer. Have been coming here for many years and have stayed in a variety of rooms without any issues. Will be returning in the future.

The Appartments offer nice family accomodation

The main building here has seen better days, but the views are wonderful. The counter meals are average and the service inconsistent. One team member offered particularly poor service and a lousy attitude. Other staff members seemed friendly. This location is a great stop over for a visit down the Peninsula. Pirates Bay is amazing and good surf beaches or swimming beaches are within reach, although we visited in winter, quite cold. The apartments were a nice surprise, better than expected. Quite modern. We had two x 2 bedroom apartments which offered good value for money. No complaints. Would recommend, although expect basic facilities from the property overall.
