Comfortable country hotel
Andy Hon 16/08/2017 19:19We stayed in Mayfield House as we were visiting RIAT and Slimbridge and it seemed to be mid way between the two! The Hotel is quite small, very friendly and the room we had was very clean and comfortable. the food was good, the bar had real ale, and on some days the outdoor pizza oven was operated.
Thoroughly recommended.
Short break
Gill Aon 16/08/2017 18:25Just enjoyed a short break and stayed Mayfield House. We are there one night and had a lovely meal, we were able to eat in the bar with our dog. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and plenty of choice, lots of offers of more toast, coffee etc.
I agree with the comments about the room requiring decoration but the bed was extremely comfy, the room was very clean and as we had a young dog we were perfectly happy.
There is some road noise at the front but not all night and we slept very well with the window open.
Lovely walks on your doorstep for dogs.
Another lovely Best Western
Good Value short break
WickersWorld50on 13/08/2017 20:15We had a two day break at the hotel. The room and bathroom was spacious, although the bathroom had a very noisy pump in a cupboard which ran every time hot water was used in rooms neighbouring ours. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. It is close to Malmesbury and Cirencester, delightful historic market towns on the southern edge of the Cotswolds. It is in the village of Crudwell on the main road, but the road is not particularly busy and so not too noisy. We had dinner in the restaurant on one of the nights. The food we had was excellent.
Disappointing
jennypB4255AZon 10/08/2017 11:09Tatty furnishings in room. Inadequate shower in dated bathroom. No hot water on one morning. No disabled parking or help with luggage as no lift. Good breakfast. Public rooms ok. Nice location. Expensive for the standard provided.
Have stayed in many Best Western hotels before and expected better
Mayfield House Hotel, Crudwell.
thecuckooon 09/08/2017 23:25Stayed for 3 nights.
A cosy and comfortable hotel.
28 rooms not small but not over busy either.
Comfy beds, clean rooms and friendly staff.
One of the best breakfasts we have had, always served up hot and with plenty of choice. They did a good scrambled egg.
We only stayed for dinner one night as we had other things on but that was our loss as it was delicious and again well served and ample choice. A couple of areas to relax and read or to sit when having a drink from the bar.
Nice small village with a few walks and a local pub to stop for a drink on the way back to the hotel should you want a change of scene. Locals friendly.
Buses just down the road take you in Cirencester should you wish to have a car free day.
Room 1 was comfy, nice big shower and although by the stairs it was quiet.
Only 3 rooms on our landing and we were over the lobby and lounge here but there was no noise.
2 small and I larger car park ample space for all.
Also a dog friendly hotel.
We would not hesitate to stay here again.
