Historical and comfortable.
alig6336on 06/08/2017 22:33We had a family Wedding at the Moffat House Hotel and from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out everything was taken care of. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and reasonably priced menus, with a great selection of tipples to please everybody's pallet, extensive gin list.
Short stay
LynseyRadwellon 04/08/2017 23:36Just had a lovely 2 night stay at the Best Western for a friend's wedding at a local castle.
I had a double room for myself which was not charged at a supplement - a real rarity when you're a single person.
The hotel staff were incredibly friendly carrying our bags to our rooms which were spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfy. Late checkout of 11am was perfect for our party particularly after a wedding!
I recommend the full Scottish breakfast really filling and tasty not to mention freshly cooked and piping hot.
There is parking across the road to the hotel so no trouble there either.
I would definitely stay here again and if you need a taxi use Moffats cabs he is a diamond; nothing too much trouble for him!
Great place with friendly staff
Dean Won 23/07/2017 10:27Great location in the centre of a quaint town with friendly staff, parking onsite off the road. Rooms were traditional and comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and the beds were comfortable and clean with lots of local shops and bars to browse nearby
Good location, lovely old building
Boglieburn2on 20/07/2017 12:52We were attending an event in the town centre so Moffat House was perfect. Right next to everything but set back from the road so still quiet, especially at the back where there is a nicely-planted garden area with big old trees. Friendly man at reception. Room a bit disappointing, tired decor, very narrow bath/shower area. Breakfast in the garden room would be lovely on a sunny day. Breakfast buffet was a bit basic but cooked breakfast was good and coffee ok. Would probably look around for next time or ask for a different room. Do dog owners tend to get the rooms that need a bit of an upgrade? Just asking.
Overnight Stop on Journey North
ChasBKnaon 18/07/2017 21:33An excellent place to stop overnight en route to Northern Scotland. Evening meal and breakfast could not be faulted and would definitely stay there again. Room was not in the main building but through a separate door from the car park but as the weather was kind this proved to be no problem.
