Cleaning Staff Needs Better Training

The people at the front desk are very nice and I could say a few more nice things about the location and whatnot. But, that would not be a "fair" review because at the end of the day, I'd never stay at this Best Western again unless there were serious changes made. What really concerns me is that the room was NEVER properly cleaned and I will not lie -- there were bugs! So, our stay was brief. We made up an excuse to leave and I hate doing that. But, I tried to speak to the staff about this and there was a language barrier. Yet, in my opinion, if you're properly trained to do that job, then there should not be a problem with cleanliness. They do not lift the mattresses or look under the beds when changing the linen. There was food left on the mattress and under the bed. We all know food attracts bugs. The manager needs to do an on-sight walk-through and examine the mattresses and discard the ones that are no longer suitable. And, have the carpets cleaned and the place exterminated. I do not feel this location adequately reflects Best Western as a corporation. I think the management and staff need better training in hotel management.

Excellent hotel for LA trips. Very clean and comfy with very affordable prices.

Exceeded expectations in every possible way. Very clean room and bedding. Safe neighborhood with a new shiny mall next door. Perfect for people visiting LA and not wanting to drive a long way everyday. The best thing is the very affordable price.

I booked this hotel but was very skeptical due to some of the reviews mentioning dirty rooms, bad staff and lack of towels. I don't understand what the bad reviews were about! I am glad I booked this hotel. Everything was very clean and the staff was very professional. Will definitely stay here again. Very Highly recommended.

Poor quality for a Best Western

The room was clean, no complaints on that. But, housekeeping is not allowed to leave face cloths in the bathroom. You have to go to the office and request that. T.V. channels were very poor choices unless you spoke Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, etc. Very few English channels. Continental breakfast consisted of watery scrambled eggs, cut-up wieners, and very thin slices of some sort of ham (I think it was Spam), a few variety of cereals. Yogurt was not available every morning. The staff was friendly, those that could speak English. If you don't mind the above negatives, then you can stay here. It's a very old building and the rooms are really not modern. As one Reviewer said 'Best to look elsewhere'. I stayed at a Best Western in Salt Lake City and in Twin Falls. Now, those Best Westerns rated a 5+ with me. Extremely clean, modern, thick bath towels, large rooms and an excellent breakfast.

I made this reservation on line and it worked out great this motel is very very comfortable it has all the right stuff a microwave and a small fridge. I will stay here again. This location makes it easy to get to the 17 mile drive and cannery row.

On the plus side our room and bedding were clean but the furnishings are spartan and old. The bathroom needs updating as the toilet seat was barely attached and the tub was old and patched. No wash cloths were provided, only 2 thin bath towels and 2 hand towels for the two of us.

The property is in the heart of a large Asian community, so if you're looking for American food, you have to drive a ways. The breakfast was the worst I've experienced at any hotel. There was a little offering of dried out scrambled eggs and grey looking sausage. There were hard boiled eggs but when I cracked it open, it was so green that I was afraid to eat it. And the only other meat was hot slices of bologna! If you were Asian, I assume you would enjoy the tea eggs, noodles and other strange looking pickled items. My husband couldn't get any juice because the machine wasn't turned on. There was only white bread to toast, with only butter to spread on it. No peanut butter or jelly in sight and definitely no bagels or cream cheese or any pastries.

When I booked this place in July to attend the Rose Parade, there were decent reviews. If I would have checked the reviews in recent months, I definitely would have cancelled my reservation. .
