Nice village stay

Nice room in the Eastgate Annexe. Would have been a detached house once next door to the hotel, now refurbished into beautiful traditional looking hotel rooms. We stayed here to visit family in Brighton, and easy as the car park had plenty of spaces to drive in and out. Good breakfast each morning. Bramber village is very pretty and overlooked by the old castle ruins. There are a few eateries nearby and small shops, with Steyning a mile away. Free wifi and mini bar fridge were useful. Very pleasant stay.

Lovely break

I couldn't recommend this hotel more highly. Spent 2 nights of a 5 daybreak here.
The staff were friendly. The room was excellent. Wanted for nothing. Ate in the restaurant both nights very nice food. The breakfast was well presented and very nice. Would certainly return.

Lunch

We were a walking group of 14 visiting Bramber and had a carvery lunch at the Old Tollgate Hotel, Bramber. Excellent service and value. Food very good, couldn't fault the lunch at all. Would recommend this place for lunch any time.

The hotel is situated in the picturesque and fairly prosperous village of Bramber. The price for 2 nights B&B was a very reasonable £175. The room was fine and the restaurant carvery represented terrific value when one includes the vouchers we were given. Service was friendly and efficient as most establishments are these days. There is a newsagent and chemist within a few minutes walking distance down the road. There are also a couple of footpaths to stroll down near the river.
My only gripe was no air-conditioning and the weather was very warm when we went. I was told upon leaving that some of the rooms did have air-con. I wish I had known that before I booked. No air-conditioning in the restaurant was a let-down, after all this is the 21st century.

Nice location for exploring Sussex coast

Our room was in the Westgate block. Very well appointed room with great bathroom. The main hotel itself is a little dated and would benefit from a refurb. The hotels bar was not very welcoming as it had no seating or bar stools. The carvery was okay but I feel it would have been better to have the desserts SERVED to you rather than self service.
