The entrance/reception area carpet was the filthiest floor I have ever seen in any hotel. The furnishings were tired tatty and grubby looking. For the money it was poor value.
This was built in the 60's and lacks investment for a so called 4 star it should be downgraded. I visited family staying at the hotel and as a local resident on the island was embarrassed at the state of the reception. They said the bedroom was not as bad as the reception area but badly in need of refurb.

Stayed for 5 nights on a coach tour of the island
as others have stated in dire need of refurbishment although kept very very clean by housekeeping ,very friendly staff ,complimentary toiletries and coffee tea, biscuites,replenished as required
Breakfast was lovely everything you could wish for and piping hot
Evening dinner was very good a varied choice of starter main and deserts were lovely very tempting all staff we met were very wecoming and friendley
We paid extra for a seaview which was well worth the money lovely to be able to open the balcony door for a bit of sea air
We have only 2 things that could of made our stay better
1/ the balcony was covered in moss and if you ventured out on it you bought back a lot of it in to the room which was a bit messy
2/ there was no entertainment at the hotel except the casino and nightclub and this was late evening a bit of music in the bar area would have been nice but we made our own entertainment most evenings chatting to fellow guests all in all a good stay thankyou to all at the hotel

This is our fourth visit to this hotel. It is ideally placed on the promenade and not too far to walk into the town centre. Previous reviews have commented on a slightly tired decor and I would agree, though point out the hotel is incredibly clean. We can live with the decor in the corridors etc as the bedrooms are fine, a good size and the sea view is lovely, book this, it's worth a couple of pounds extra!

The important issues; the staff are very friendly, helpful and capable. The breakfast and evening meals are excellent, so nice we stayed in to eat every evening. A good choice of food, well cooked and good quality ingredients. We will return.

Clean but very tired!

Stayed here for one night this month. The room was clean but very tired and in dire need of re-refurbishment. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room we had was quite big with a sea view. Breakfast was as good as any hotel I have stayed.

We stayed for a couple of nights in room 402 and what a room it is! We loved it the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the view from the living room was WOW! I recommend it highly. The breakfast was really nice the staff are great
