A well run hotel

We have been staying at the Wittekindshof hotel each year since 2006 on our drive from the U.K. to Dresden and onto Berlin.

It is a fine hotel, well run with good staff and spotlessly clean.

What we have noticed in the last 10 years is the huge investment that has gone into this property to make improvements. Since our first stay 11 years ago, the restaurant and the Stube have been completely remodelled along with most of the bedrooms.

Some of the Comfort rooms at the rear of the hotel are now quite superb.

We have just returned again from our annual trip to Dresden and Berlin, using the Wittekindshof as a stopover on the way out and on the way back. We were so impressed this time that next year we intend to stay over for a couple of days and enjoy the hotel and tour the surrounding area.

And just to end....we always have a wonderful dinner in the Stube each evening we are there. I usually have a fine Black Angus steak and my wife a tasty fish dish. It is always good and beautifully served by Andreas.

This Hotel is Close to City Center and Footballstadium very nice and quiet rooms . Personnel is nice and friendly one is not too far from the City Center and from the footballstadium From the 01.01.2017 it will Change the Name but we were told everything will be as it is now

A nice hotel, and although on a busy road the rooms were quiet with good air-conditioning. Great spacious room with lovely en-suite. The restaurant and food were very good and the staff friendly and efficient. We would stay at this hotel again if we are in this part of Dortmund.

German Highlights

We were in town for a wedding. The location was convenient to our locations, taxis available close, and the train station just across the street. The staff was helpful, although were not great with the English language. We had a triple room that faced the street, which could be noisy if the window was open. The room had been updated, was very clean and neat, had a refrigerator, safe, and very nice large bathroom with granite sink and shower.. The shower was large with a great spray! Loved it! We also had a single room facing the back which was quiet. That room did not appear updated and my daughter thought of it as a "dorm room". The shower was small with a small tub.
The breakfast buffet was lovely, including the meats, cheese and fish, along with eggs, bacon, potatoes, breads etc. There was a really nice assortment of jams and preserves along with yogurt and fruit. The setting was in a very nicely updated dining area with windows, nice lighting, and good coffee and service. We loved our breakfasts here! There was a nice small bar with good service/cozy. I hope to be back to Dortmund and would love to stay here again!

Excellent hotel, good facilities and friendly staff. We had a large suite for 3 persons. Typical (bit ugly) German interior but very large, clean and comfortable bed and good bathroom. Price (in April) was very fair for the space, comfort and hygiene offered. A bit out of the centre of town but 200 mt from metro. So very convenient.
