What People are saying

Hotel by the beach

Elizabeth Bon 07/08/2017 17:11

Hotel is nice and clean, just a walk across to get on to Agate Beach. We did not like our room because it was right under the walking bridge where you hear door closing and luggage dragging. Our beds were soft and sagged in the middle. Otherwise, overall good.

great view, ok service

Great hotel with ocean views. Service not the best, but good accommodations otherwise. Parking was a bit of a hassle. Does not offer complimentary breakfast, even for Diamond members. Not a great price /value overall...

Excellent stay.

The motel is clean and has spacious rooms. One side faces the beach. The lobby is inviting and has fire place with nice seats to sit and relax. There is beach access from the motel. There is a nice view if you are on the beach side. The other side view is good too of the surrounding woods. The rooms have siding glass door with a small balcony. The rooms are quiet. The WiFi is speedy. The beds are comfortable. There is a nice indoor hot tub and pool.

The caveats:
- the entrance can be tricky to find.
- the entrance is right off Hwy 101 so it has alot of traffic.
- Parking near the front entrance is limited but there is the main parking lot up a small hill with a skyway access into the motel on the sixth floor.
- There is no A/C but opening the sliding door will cool the room off at night - However, if you're on the non-beach side then the street light shines in. Also, if your room is on the sixth or fifth floor near that parking lot skyway then people can peer right into your room. In addition, the sun rises and shines in on that side. Ocean side is the best but also hard to get.

There is complementary coffee in the lobby and also in your room. There is a restaurant with nice view of the beach and surrounding woods. We ate breakfast there and it was very good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Wonderful BW, Fantastic Location

Spent one nice night here returning from a 2 week plus vacation. If I'd known this was such a nice property in such a lovely location, would have gladly spent a night or 2 less in other places! And, it is pet friendly which is a plus. They don't put you in lesser rooms if you have pets which some properties do. Highly recommend.

Busy place almost on the beach

banjobillkon 06/08/2017 04:24

We booked this place, not as a destination, but just passing through. This is a busy tourist area, so really had to look to find a place. We are on our 12th day of a road trip and this is our most expensive place yet, but not by choice.

This is more of a "Hotel" than I am used to. Six floors, conference room, bar, restaurant. I'm more of a "popcorn in the microwave" guy.

Parking is very odd. There are very few places to park at the building. Instead you go around back and up a hill, and park even with the 6th floor. Not bad if you are on the 6th floor, otherwise, just the opposite of most anywhere else. You walk in and take the elevator DOWN to your room.

There is no breakfast provided. You can go to the restaurant on the ground floor, but that is an added cost.

I asked for a room with a view, since this place is almost on the ocean. I did not get that and also got no explanation. Being a Best Western Diamond member, I thought I was supposed to get an automatic upgrade, but no luck.

The walls don't seem super insulated since I keep hearing a baby crying from somewhere.

There is no air conditioning, but from what I understand, it rarely gets very hot here or very cold. I still wonder what they do on those rare days.

This hotel is sort of on the beach, yet still a long walk. To get to the ocean, you walk out of the hotel down a small hill, across a very small service road, and then across the beach to the ocean. The thing is, with this beach being so flat, that when the tide is out, it is a fair walk across the sand to the water. On the order of walking across the Sahara to get to the oasis.

I guess that was the bad, and now the good. The room is of a good size. There are two of those things in the closet that you set your luggage on. Nice touch. The room was very clean. So far, my white socks do not show any dirt.

The bathroom and shower we OK. No surprises.

There is a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator in the room. The refrigerator freezer could have held more, but the frost was too thick.

Two nice chairs in the room along with the computer desk chair.

My wife and I had a bowl of clam chowder downstairs in the restaurant. The chowder was good. Our waiter, Piero (I think) was very talkative and friendly.

That's it.
