What People are saying

Great location, staff and rooms.

X9365NKpeggyc on 20/11/2017 20:18

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is nice. I particularly loved the pool. The location was great and within walking distance of a lot of great shopping and venues. I would stay here again.

Reservation nightmare

Book the room on the credit card and name that you wish it to be billed to. Otherwise, you will never get it sorted out with this hotel. Other than that, it's a nice hotel and the restaurant that is attached to this hotel is a nice experience. I'm not sure of the value because room rates were ridiculous at the time of my stay. I paid $500 for the night I was there and got 10k worth of confusion on getting the room in my name and on my credit card.

Nice property at a good price with friendly service!

Nice hotel for the price. Friendly service at the front desk. Wifi worked great. Very comfortable bed for this type of property and in walking distance to restaurants. The breakfast service is light but sufficient. Would definitively recommend and come back next time I am in SF.

Ask for a quiet room

Caroline B on 15/11/2017 05:28

After reading reviews on TA we were rather scared to drive up to the hotel. Yes, this neighbourhood is rough. Yes, you see loads of homeless people on the streets near the hotel. They do however not approach you. The room was ok. Walls are paperthin. Please ask for a quiet room at the back end of the hotel. We could still hear the noise of the construction site next door. Did not appreciate the long black hairs in the clean (?) towels and the tears in the sheets. Staff very friendly though.

Great Staff - Rotten charging system

Sam3912 on 14/11/2017 04:14

I am from Belfast visiting Toronto, San Francisco, Jenny in New Zealand and 3 other cities on the way back. I booked the round trip through "Freedom Australia" so didnt choose the hotels directly.

The staff at the hotel are courteous, friendly and try to be helpful., The standard of room care is good.

My room was bought and fully paid for in August (this is November). However the front desk staff decucted $250 from my credit card without my knowledge or permission. Their argument for taking this sum is that "it is required for a deposit" It is normal practice in many hotels for the staff to "swipe" your card as security and I have no problem with this.

However i objected to this one i checked my credit card statement and saw that the amount has been charged. I was met with courteous evasion, the manager saying things like "we are required by law" They arent, "It is standard policy in San Francisco. Having stayed in te Crown Plaza, the Marryot and the Whitcombe I know from personal experience it isnt. "Its the group policy" It probably is but that makes it neither legally nor morally right.

The next tack was to claim hat the money hadnt been taken from my account, I showed them a print out of my statement confirming that it had.

The problem jas not yet been resolved and I caution new guests to clarify exactly what will happen to them before committing themselves to a stay. i am not saying dont use them - but if you do keep very close ye on your credit card acount!!! After all you oay the interest on amounts debited - they get the interest. 100 guests each having $250 from thir account represents an additional cash float to the hotel of $25000. Qute a help to their cash flow.

In terms of value for money i think it is poor. There is no mini-bar in the room; no restaurant to which you can charge a meal.
