Good Hotel
StephenL01on 23/08/2017 21:53We stayed at the Edgewater for 4 nights in August 2017. We had a mountain view room that was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Parking is on the street though that was not a problem. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, and a tv. There are also two guest computers in the lobby area. The breakfast was good though it can be crowded. The hotel has a coin operated guest laundry. It is an easy walk to many attractions and businesses. The helpful staff is a strong point for this hotel.
Excellent stay
Robert Mon 21/08/2017 01:17My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Edgewater Hotel in Seward for several days between ending a cruise and beginning a land tour in Alaska. From the time we walked in until the time we left, the front desk staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. For instance, they stored our luggage the morning we got off the cruise until we actually checked in later that afternoon. The room was clean, and the beds comfortable. There were lots of options for a full breakfast, and the person responsible for the breakfast area was pleasant and efficient. The hotel is on the edge of town, but the free city shuttle makes it easy to access. Highly recommended.
Meh. But probably the best you're going to get in this sleepy little town.
DC/VATravelGirlon 20/08/2017 19:19Simple, a word used by other reviewers, is the perfect description for this hotel. There is mildew in the shower and it's definitely not as clean as it could have been but it served its purpose for two nights. The location is good because you can very easily walk to the water, the sea life center and the restaurants and coffee shop. The breakfast in the morning is adequate and saved us the time of having to find someplace else to go. The elevator was broken when we got there and while they offered to help carry our 50 lb bags, we just couldn't do that to them so we lugged everything up to the second floor ourselves. As a hotel snob I knew this wasn't going to meet my expectations but went in with extremely low expectations and it ended up being good enough to rest my head at night. Lower your expectations and you will be just fine too.
Clean hotel with good service
Nancykayakson 19/08/2017 12:57My husband and I and another couple stayed here for six nights to explore the Seward area. The hotel looks nice and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. The only weird thing is the bathroom sink is right outside the bathroom door, making the space awkward. Breakfast is included in the price, and was generally good although repetitious, and sometimes the kitchen would run out of items like fruit. Seward is a great place to visit and all of us were amazed at Resurrection Bay, the wildlife, the glaciers and the mountains. Mother Earth at her finest!
Small rooms
hblumson 19/08/2017 07:04We stayed here one night during our trip to Seward. We had 4 people staying in a 2 double bed room. It was the tiniest room we have ever stayed in. We were tripping over each other. And the bathroom was super small too. For $300 it wasn't worth it but that's seasonal supply and demand! The rest of the hotel was nice and breakfast was good. Long walk to cruise ships but it was sort of nice not being in the busy port. Close to some nice restaurants. Hotel staff was friendly. They let us keep our luggage there after we checked out, which was nice but our luggage was just left in the lobby. When we went to pick them up no one even checked our tags to make sure we were the owners, which made us realize anyone could've taken them. However it seemed to be one of the nicer hotels there despite the small rooms.
