Stayed at the Best Western Plus Fort Lauderdale Airport South with another couple that were traveling in for a cruise out of Miami. I typically stay at Marriott hotels, but chose this one to stay with the couple we were traveling with. I am not a hard person to please and all I typically look for in hotels are clean/comfortable rooms, unfortunately this hotel did not meet that expectation.
Upon entering the room we were greeted with an old musty smell. It is worth noting that the couple we were traveling with (who had a separate room) had the same smell in their room. The smell is something that I could overlook, but gives the impression that the room/hotel is not very clean. This impression became reality when we looked in the shower and saw black substances around various parts of the shower. To make things worse, the substance was easily removed when wiping with a wet washcloth. Why a cleaning staff couldn't do this is the concerning part. If something this noticeable wasn't addressed then I'm sure that more finer details are missed as well.
FYI... I've never written a hotel review (good or bad) and have been staying in hotels (primarily Marriott brands) for the past 10-15 years (both business and leisure trips). For the price (around 180/night) you should be able to find better properties in the Fort Lauderdale area.

As eluded to earlier, I only expect a clean room when staying in hotels. This is why the CONS overwhelmingly outweigh the PROS of this property. Hope this review helps someone in the future.

The bathroom was not that clean. There was mold in the shower and along the floor and stains on the shower wall. The carpets were worn, stained and had a sticky feel. That said, the staff was helpful and the hotel is convenient to the airport. We only stayed for an evening before our flight out the following day.

This hotel was a very clean place to stay. They had a team of workers who were very busy doing things the whole time we were there. The staff were very friendly and helpful with a smile. I like the computer room with 3 computers to use plus a printer to print off my boarding pass for my flight home. The only thing is the location for places to eat. If you have a car no problem. But there was a busy street to cross to get to any place to eat. Breakfast was wonderful!!! Many selections to choose from in a very clean breakfast room.

The hotel is conveniently located near the airport and highway. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was big,comfortable and clean. The only concern was that the glaze on the tub was peeling and the bottom was slippery. It was exceptionally clean. We would stay there again.

Conveniently located close to the airport with a shuttle service. Great, hearty breakfast served. Eat at the Cuban restaurant across the street; it offers huge portions and is delicious! Hotel within walking distance to a large shopping center with big box stores.
