Excellent Hotel in the middle of nowhere

We made this our halfway stop on the way back from an Ironman race in Santa Rosa, Callifornia. Winnemucca is pretty much halfway between San Francisco and Slat Lake City, so the majority of travelers are just passing through, just as we were.

The hotel is a gem, and compares very favorably to the St George Abbey Inn, which for us has been the best of the best of all the Best Westerns we've stayed in. The rooms here are large and roomy, the location is quiet, the beds are very comfy, and there are some great food options nearby (Sid's for dinner, the Griddle for breakfast).

We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we pass this way again.

Best stop between San Francisco & Yellowstone NP

Unexpectedly one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed at. Very well laid out and very comfortable. The concierge was very friendly and even lowered the room price as I hadn't selected the cheaper option when booking. There is plenty of food around the hotel all within walking distance. Overall a great stay!

Pleasant Stay Except for AC Problems

I'll start by saying I would ABSOLUTELY stay at this hotel again. It was very clean, quiet (in spite of lots of children during my stay), nicely appointed, very comfortable bed and had a very, very good staff. However, despite the fact they were working on it, the AC was not adequate. I'd read reviews prior to my stay and many mentioned problems with the AC. ATTN CORPORATE: This property would be PERFECT if you'd OVERHAUL THE HVAC. (Side note: Only rating sleep quality as "very good" because I have chronic sleep issues, so sleep quality is relative. However, I got MUCH more sleep than I do at home and I did find the bed comfortable.)

Hotel exceeded our expectations! Spotless rooms, comfortable beds, nice furnishings, and large rooms. Breakfast included a wide variety of
items. Hot tub is huge, pool fun! Overall wonderful experience!

very impressed with hotel and staff, after a long motorcycle ride, arriving at the hotel, the staff was very welcoming and attentive. We were very happy with the overall experience, Breakfast was good. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
