Service needs improvement

The hotel overall was okay, nice area. The service for check-in was not great. Not very friendly. We were first told there were no rooms available, but when we asked where there was another hotel, they suddenly had a room. Over priced compared other Best Westerns.

Uniquely charming, plus dog friendly!

We loved the mountain lodge theme and the huge park-like grounds and pond behind the hotel. Good rates, comfy beds and Jeremiah's restaurant next door delivered a hot and delicious dinner. Wish I could go back.

Watch Out for Traffic on 12th Street!

As a Plus property, this Best Western unit is quite nice with an outstanding restaurant attached. However, we had a few problems and one word of warning. First of all, actively avoid room 140. It is right next door the hotel laundry. The dryer vents to the parking lot and is hot and messy. Secondly, the property sits along 12th Street in Ogden and while the speed limit is supposed to be 40, these Utah drivers regularly exceed 60, making a turn out of the parking lot very difficult. Old people should avoid this hotel as a consequence. All things considered, it is not a bad Plus property but at best, I have rated it average.

Beautiful View

The view from this hotel was beautiful. We got to watch the sunset and sunrise from our room. It has a cabin-like aesthetic and was very comfortable. It is located right off the freeway. Would have been great to have complimentary breakfast for the price, though.

weekend visit

I traveled to Ogden July 21-July 23 to visit my son and his family. I had made reservations so check in was smooth and fast. My room was a suite with separate sitting and bedroom located on the back of the property on the second floor. I believe it is the only room of this size on the property. there was both stairway and elevator access. Everything was clean and fresh smelling. the carpet and furniture seemed to be relatively new. they had taken 2 regular size rooms and turned them into one nice sized suite. I had a small refrigerator and a microwave and free Wi-Fi. the 2 below window a/c units were efficient. the temp that weekend was in the mid 90's each day. the back of the property overlooked a small park with walking trail and a pond. I was able to park at the base of the stairway directly in front of my room. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and did a good job.
DOWNSIDE: the computer in the lobby for guest usage was ridiculously slow. if you want to check in for your flight and print your boarding pass using this computer, allow about 45 minutes time to do so. the front desk staff could act a little more personable. both interactions I had with the front desk was pretty dry. they were very efficient and professional, but maybe a little weak making people feel welcome and appreciated. my only complaint about the room...the toilet...for the type room it was, I think they could have spent just a very few dollars more and upgraded the toilet. it was slow to flush, although it did flush, you had to hold the handle down for a few seconds. also, the toilet seat was as cheap as you can buy and was not a good fit. when you sat down, it wiggled. just not something I expected from the room. I will stay here again on my next visit and will request the same room. overall a good experience, but...with a little improvement could have been better.
