Clean, Convenient Stay
Skin08on 01/08/2017 15:53This Best Western Plus is conveniently located close to major highways and shopping. It's about a 1 minute drive off the 'Shopping Mall' exit. The hotel itself appears modern with ample free parking and accessible entrances and elevators on both ends of the property. The reception staff was professional and accommodating, answering all questions. There is an indoor pool available for hotel guests located just off site across the back parking lot. I did not make use of it because I find shared pool resources with other hotels or businesses a bit awkward and inconvenient. In any case, I do not remember it being listed in the hotel features so I did not pack a swim suit. The room itself was of average size with average furnishings and an average HDTV. The above average points were the spotless carpets, even under the bed and the superbly comfortable bed and pillows. The washroom was average is size and style, but the water pressure was a bit weak. The included breakfast offered only the standard offerings in a room that was too small and crowded for a hotel of its size. Overall, I would highly recommend this Best Western for a short travel stop through New York state because its located extremely close to several chain restaurants, a 24 grocery store, major shopping mall, and more importantly it's clean and comfortable.
The plus is obvious.

This is a winner

I'm Wondering Why The "PLUS"
Are Jon 28/07/2017 20:49We've been travelling with a dog the past couple of years and rediscovered Best Westerns as one of the more often than not, "pet-friendly" hotel chains. That being said there remains in our limited experience, a significant inconsistency in the overall experience we've had at two Best Westerns and three Best Western Plus properties where two of the three latter (Plus properties) appeared newer and yet they offered far less breakfast choices and eating space than the 2 "just your regular BWs"...one of which was no extra charge for the dog as we are CAA members and the dog got a doggie bag with treats and a throw for their furniture!
Great beds don't make up for a very noisy air conditioner, mildew in the bathroom and we feel if we pay $10 extra a night because of the dog, we shouldn't smell the last dog that was in our room...but when you arrive later...unpack the car...and then go looking for dinner...there's really no point in saying anything once you return and start to notice the little off putting things...the price was right and not all places take the dog!
The breakfast offering was limited...scrambled eggs and bacon (both mornings)...the usual flip over waffle irons...three dry cereals one of them not sugar coated...The orange juice dispenser out of order the second morning...why the PLUS?
On the "plus" side...they have a small lounge/bar with a couple of tables on the patio so we were able to bring food back to the hotel and eat it outside with the dog and enjoy a reasonably priced beer and a glass of wine as opposed to pizza in the room with the pooch.
So if you're traveling with a dog...it's OK...but in my opinion it's at Best a Western...not a PLUS :)
Stays at BW"S
Roland Won 23/07/2017 16:34Johnson City was a nice stay, as with all Best Western Hotels. We have stayed at many Best Western hotels and have never had a bad experience. We only stay at Best Western hotels when we travel. Try them.
