Good Place to stop enroute to colorado

Wanted to stop on our way to Crested Butte to gradually acclimate to the altitude (one of us had issues last visit). Found Raton to be on our route and decided on BW.

Check in was fairly painless though one of our rooms was not quite ready (we were checking in around 3:30). We backed our vehicle to the back door to unload into king suite which consisted of a living area (sofa sleeper, mini fridge & microwave) and separate sleeping area (no doors), large bathroom (separate bath & shower, double vanity) and another door leading into the hotel's interior. It looked like all the rooms in the main building had two doors - one to the outside and one to the atrium area where the indoor pool was located.

A bar & dining room are on site and, in speaking with a man who stops in at the hotel each week, learned that the food is "as good as any" where prices were reasonable and after spending hours in the car, was a great option for us. The restaurant shares space (divided by a small dividing wall) with the included breakfast service. Breakfast buffet offered bacon, sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs & tortillas in the "hot" line and various breads (bread, English muffins, danish, small muffins) in the corner set up with toasters. The cereal line had standard cereals and hot oatmeal (with sweet toppings), yogurt. Standard coffee, juices, milk. Noticed that someone ordered pancakes.

After arriving in CB, found out other families stop at this Best Western as part of their drive in. It's not a luxury hotel but provides sufficient amenities, is non-smoking, great for families and has pet friendly rooms!

Great clean hotel with Restaurant and bar right in hotel. Full breakfast buffet was awesome! Highly recommend this hotel in Raton for a great stay. The fitness center was very nice as well as the pool area.

Nice stop on a road trip. Clean, quiet rooms. Your average complimentary breakfast, quite decent to start your day. Restaurant closed 30 minutes prior to advertised time due to high volume which was frustrating. Would recommend,

Nice hotel room but a/c didnt cool well

We arrived late at night was greeted by very friendly staff they explained all the amenities the hotel offered and made us feel very welcome . When we arrived to our room it was very large and nice and clean . The only reason I'm not leaving a 5 star review is because the a/c in our room wasn't cooling enough to make it comfortable to sleep well . It could have been that we we're on the second floor so that may have been a factor in why it was so warm but I wish the a/c cooled more then it did .

We arrived there on the heels of a horrible hotel experience and were so relieved and pleased with our stay at the Best Western in Raton. The hotel staff was helpful and went out of their way for us. Our beds were comfortable and clean. Our room smelled fresh and was so quiet we slept very well. The complimentary breakfast in the hotel restaurant was one of the best hotel breakfast I have had in a very long time. My only complaint was the guy who kept smoking in the parking lot right outside my room, but that is not a hotel issue, just a manners issue.
I would definitely stay here again, if I travel this way again
