We like to get to the dock on time. We go the day before and stay at the San Pedro BW . Our car is parked under roof while we cruise and they take us to and from the cruise ship. On top of all this we get a good breakfast!

We stayed at this hotel before going on a cruise out from San Pedro with M/V Norwegian Sun. We had a very good stay. The room was spacious and had a view over the pool area. The only minus with the room were that the sink was not located in the bathroom but right outside the bathroom. All the staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. They also provided excellent shuttle service to the vessel. I would recommend reserving your place on the shuttle as soon as you arrive at the hotel as it seems like it’s filled up pretty fast. The hotel is also near to the USS Iowa which was bonus. If I go on another cruise from San Pedro I would definitely stay there again
Before I went on the cruise I heard someone complain about the neighborhood I didn’t have any problems walking around the hotel in the evenings to buy beer or to grab a bite to eat

We elected to stay at this hotel because of the park and cruise program they offer. Rooms were spacious and clean and a plus for a small refrigerator. Coordination providing transportation to the pier was done well. We were placed on a list for a specific time to transport us. However, returning was a nightmare. We were told to call once we had our luggage and not before 9:00am. Our call was placed at that time and we were told we were number 7 inline and it would be approximately 40 to 45 minutes for a pickup. We noticed a group of 7 or 8 people next to us also waiting for a pickup from BW Plus. It would have taken several trips for them to be taken to the hotel and it looked as though it would be closer to an hour before we would have been picked up. Not a great way to end a cruise. We finally carried our luggage down to a taxi stand and was immediately placed in a taxi and away we went. The taxi driver even drove into the bottom level parking garage and helped unload our luggage and place in our vehicle. My suggestion is that you should not rely on a pickup back to this hotel upon debarkation from the cruise ship. Take a taxi!! One last comment – they only provide transportation for Princess and Norwegian Star. We did not know this when making the reservation and was only informed upon checkin. What would have happened if we were using Holland America or any other cruise line for that matter? Do we look for a hotel with cruise parking at the last minute?

Large rooms furnished with a couch which made tv watching so comfortable. The room also had a bar with refrigerator and coffee pot. It was quiet for sleeping. Breakfast was outstanding. They had an extra room for overflow in the breakfast room which really helped since it was a busy weekend.

This is one of the most incredible hotels in the US. Why you ask? First of all the amazing staff, they are all awesome, and treat you like a King. The second thing is the ambiance, and atmosphere of the hotel itself. It is one of the most unique hotels in the US due to the overall experience, but in particular some of the things that I stated previously, and also my favorite parts of the hotel itself, which are the bar, and dining area as well as the dining room. What makes these areas so noteworthy? There is a beautiful wooden bar that is unlike any other, and also the decor of everything else around the bar gives you that homey, comfy feeling. I could watch tv or read in that area all day, and with the bar, and kitchen soon to be open for guests, and the locals alike, this will be the most talked about area of the hotel, aside from the outstanding staff. If you visit the Los Angeles area, and want an incredible experience that you will soon not forget, then go visit my friends at this hotel, and tell them that "Von Wolf" sent you,and if you see a Hispanic looking male, with long black hair running around screaming about tacos, don't panic, it is just the author of this review himself. Have a great time in L.A. but make it truly memorable by staying at the Best Western Plus San Pedro, I promise that you will never forget it, and when you are out on that cruise in the pacific ocean or back home, wherever that may be, you will be thinking about us, and we will be waiting to welcome you back!
