Nice Property and Good Location
Matt Son 14/08/2017 03:07I have stayed at this hotel twice now. Both times the room was clean and front desk staff very pleasant. The hotel is located in a good location for New Era Field (Buffalo Bills), Coca-Cola Field (Buffalo Bisons), canalside, Harbor Center, Key Bank Arena (Buffalo Sabres), and downtown Buffalo. Breakfast was so so...nothing spectacular, but good enough. Only complaint is the rate jumped about $70 from one night to the next for the same room (Thursday night vs. Friday night) with no major events that I'm aware of happening in the area that weekend.

Charlie Don 10/08/2017 10:55I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past year. In spite of the hotel not being very old, it is already showing signs of needing better upkeep. The breakfast was also not up to the quality it had been previously. All this is fixable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The TV channel lineup was one of the most complete, and included MSNBC, CNN and TCM, for quality classic films. It also included Canadian tv. This hotel is the only one close to my friends in Lackawana and others in the Buffalo area.

Walked to our room, opened the door and was hit with a sharp musty smell.
The room was very large. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were small and seemed cheap in quality.
In the early morning, I could hear children crying and water running on all sides of the room and above the ceiling. That caused me to wake up early.
There was no iron or ironing board in the room. Maybe you had to go to the self serve laundry to iron.
The breakfast was not appealing. I had one bit of scrambled egg and would compare it to eating sawdust.
(Working in a wood shop sometimes I would get a bit of sawdust in the mouth.) The corn beef hash looked terrible but it tasted better than the egg. The orange juice was the color of light lemonade. The breads seemed to be of a poor quality.
Did not appreciate the staff coming in to have breakfast while there was a fairly large line up for breakfast. Nor have I ever seen a cup on the breakfast buffet counter marked "tips appreciated". The breakfast server was not pleasant. When I greeted her with a smiley good morning, she looked at me and walked away with a frown. Of all the Best Western Plus hotels we have been at in Canada and the US, this was the worst breakfast I have ever had.
We left in good spirits because the friendly night receptionist was on morning duty and was very helpful and pleasant!

TM4911on 23/07/2017 17:23I booked this hotel last minute after booking another Best Western in the area only to arrive and being told that the hotel was sold out....which my reservation was made through the Best Western website, but whatever.
I have worked in the hotel industry for over 20 years...so I am pickier than most. However, I am also able to understand the operations side of a hotel and have some empathy... This property was the exception to my tolerance level.
Since this was a Best Western "Plus" I figured that at the very least it would be clean, decent amenities and A/C. WRONG.
I am a Best Western rewards member... no water or welcome bag upon check-in. Not even a smile for that matter.
In the room, the lamp (which is the first thing I noticed) was broken and the shade was smashed. The A/C was blowing out HOT air when set at 64 degrees. There was NO toilet paper, used amenities and not enough for two people and one towel.
The rest of the hotel was dirty, unmaintained and seemed half finished. The bed was lumpy and horribly uncomfortable and pillows felt like throw pillows.
My recommendation? If there are no other hotels available.... sleep in your car.

dhyatt2017on 21/07/2017 14:12Just outside of Buffalo. Could find any rooms in the city but that turned out to be ok. This BW is only a 5 minute drive to downtown Buffalo. Rooms were clean staff was nice. Breakfast bar was good. So for the value the place was good.
