Beautiful (and clean) room but the morning buffet could be better

The room was beautiful, modern and clean. No further comment.
There perhaps wasn't the biggest selection in the morning buffet, and the buffet could've been refilled quicker.
The hotel is located very close to a U-bahn and also close to a S-bahn so transport to and from the city is very easy and quick even though the neighborhood isn't the very best. There's also a shopping market below the hotel.

Nice hotel but poor service

This hotel was the one I really wanted to stay in Berlin. It had got pretty high reviews and it looked and still looks very nice.
Unfortunately my expectations didn't become true.

We didn't find common ground with clerk during check-in and I felt that he couldn't handle English. No gold member upgrade even they had free privilege rooms left. I even asked what kind of room we are going to have tonight and he answered: you'll get room 419, is it okay for you? How I supposed to know what kind of room is 419 if I haven't ever been here before?!
He didn't either offer us high speed wifi coupon which also belongs to gold members.

However our standard room was pretty nice and spacey. Bed was very comfy which is the most important part for one night stay.
Unhappily wifi didn't work (not even the "slow" one) in our room even once during our stay. I informed about the problem three times to the front desk but no one took me seriously because the wifi was working normally at the lobby and our room seems to be the only one with the problem. I ask them to come to our room to check the problem but no one showed up. We felt very very unwelcome.
During check out I was compensated with 300 points for wifi problem. I took it more as a verbal finger than compensation. It would have been better to give nothing than 300 points.

The hotel bar and breakfast restaurant was decorated nicely and the bar has good selection of German wines.
The food choice at breakfast was quite limited comparing to average Mercure breakfast. It was slightly disappointment.

The hotel still have huge potential if they change their way more customer friendly minded.

Location good. Very clean and tidy. Reception staff excellent - one helped me greatly with laptop internet problem. Disappointed that no gym despite being advertised as having one on the website. No face cloths in the bath room. Good breakfast. Pity no guest laundry. Great parking.

Short family holiday in Berlin

Nice design-hotel with large and well equipped rooms (e.g. coffee/tea maker is greatly appreciated), the ones on the internal court are very silent. Very good breakfast. Good service overall. We were happy with our choice.

Great hotel in a quiet but fairly central location for sightseeing.

Overall, we were very happy with our choice of hotel. Good value, local amenities, location.

Positives:
Great location - Right next to the U-Bahn and not much further to the S-Bahn.
Local amenities - Large supermarket under the hotel, has everything you could wish for. Plenty of local cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, ATM in the supermarket and hotel.
Modern - the whole complex looks pretty new, the reception area looks impressive.
Room - Clean, modern, good shower with constant hot water and pressure. Safe, mini bar.

Negatives:
Room - Double bed is actually 2 single beds & 2 single mattresses, they could have put 1 double fitted sheet over but left with 2 single fitted sheets. Not the end of the world, but not ideal.
Hotel - While looking brand new and spotless, the place is soulless. I wouldn't want to have breakfast or dinner here, ghost town!
