Robyn Lon 05/05/2017 22:53We could not believe this was a Best Western Hotel!! It was an amazing looking chateau with a country like setting! The staff was wonderful especially the front desk girl who also made us our cocktails at 6:00 p.m.! Our room was in a separate building but the room had a loft for my son to sleep in which he loved. The room was very spacious and clean!
It was just a short distance out of the main town but was great! It had a beautiful area for wedding receptions, etc...

Hotel is set in loverly grounds and is just the right distance from the Euro tunnel crossing. Enjoyed the stay which was a bit of luxury for a stop over but nice.
Overnight stop during holiday
gwendayon 27/10/2016 13:26Exterior on approach very encouraging, in large grounds. evident that much of the accommodation is in separate modern "Orangery" buildings, some 100 metres from the original hunting lodge building. Check in before parking or unloading.
Accompanied room access and baggage assistance. Room stark, wet room bathroom, very utilitarian. No shelving or cupboards for clothing, open "rack" wardrobe. Certainly not luxury, and Premier status not justified (by comparison with many other similarly graded Best Western hotels).
Restaurant in the original building is small and would be hard pressed to cater for a full hotel! Booking is recommended when making reservation, otherwise a car trip into Le Mans or surrounds will be necessary - guests were turned away even at the reduced autumn occupancy. Menu descriptions are uniquely single word non descriptive, so the food received is a surprise - but very good. Prices are reasonable. The small lounge area is within the reception area, has few seats, and there is no bar area as such - so rely on restaurant waiters to purchase a drink.
Breakfast served in the restaurant is a fairly small buffet, with limited choice - and of course crowded.
Acceptable as an overnight stop, but not as might be expected from all the pictures! But overpriced in my opinion.

marjut fon 24/09/2016 08:05Friendly people, very nice room in the castle, great breakfast, nice ambience, great place to be for this price.
I also loved the interior design, new design mixed with old. You can make nice walks in the surroundings.

Sonja Ron 17/09/2016 16:19This is a nice hotel for a stop over. Staff in the evening were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was exceptional. However breakfast was very poor due to the staff being busy setting up for a group booking. No interest in other customers and poor service, displays run out of food, no juice etc which was a great shame.
