Great little break

Last minute we decided to go to London for a couple of days and not only is this hotel in a great location for tube services to shops or sites to see, there are some fab restaurants on the doorstep. We received a warm welcome as soon as we got through the door with some chilled water while we checked in. The room was clean, cosy but with all the necessary amenities, even a microwave?? Mini bar, hairdryer etc. Quiet at night and the staff were all very attentive and helpful. Will definitely go back when staying in London.

Great interior, really comfy beds, fantastic location but the staff really made the visit special. They were exceptionally attentive and went above and beyond. I will continue to stay here on future trips. Thank you for making my trip memorable.

On arrival at the hotel the front of house staff were very welcoming, they asked if the trip was for a special occasion and I informed them that it was our wedding anniversary we were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a complementary room upgrade and a bottle of wine and chocolates their hospitality was second to none, I would particularly like to thank Kanisha & Cornelious for their kindnesses during our stay. The only negative point is that there are constant doors banging due to interlinking corridors very very annoying in the small hours.

A couple hiccups, but Arpan to the rescue!

I'm a bit late writing this review, but wanted to provide our feedback on our stay at Park Grand Kensington. We arrived late in the evening--I had emailed a few days in advance so the staff would know to hold our room. Our first issue was that when the person at the reception desk ran our credit card, I selected the transaction to be charged in GBP. He presented the receipt in USD at a not-favorable rate, and told me that it was my credit card that charged it in USD, which I knew wasn't correct. At that hour, I figured I would take it up with my credit card company or try again in the morning.

In what was intended to be a nice gesture, we were told that we were being upgraded to a club level room (we had booked a deluxe double). However, the room they showed us to was in the basement, and I had requested an upper floor, so we were then shown to a room on the first floor that was billed as a deluxe double. The room looked exactly like the picture of the superior double on the hotel's website (that is, very small). Again, since it was late, we decided to deal with it in the morning.

On the positive side, with our late arrival the gentleman at the reception desk had the bellman bring us a cold beverage, which was very much appreciated. Those little touches really add up.

The next morning, I went to the desk to inquire about both the credit card charge and the possible mistaken category of our room. I was told that we were indeed in a deluxe room, despite the fact it looked just like the smaller Superior room's website picture. At this point, Arpan happened to come to the desk. He took care of both the credit card transaction (refunding the USD charge and charging in GBP, which saved us over $40), and made arrangements to have us moved to another room (an upper level club room). That room was fantastic, and really made our stay much more pleasant.

The included breakfast was very nice, as was the service at the restaurant. We enjoyed having coffee/tea, biscuits and fruit in the room. And the chocolate at the desk was a nice touch for this chocoholic :)

Hotel location is very convenient to the Earl's Court tube station, and the hotel gave us some neighborhood restaurant recommendations that we enjoyed. Service at reception was friendly, polite and helpful.

We would definitely stay here again, but would make sure to get a club room. Some people may not think with our issues a five-star review is warranted, but for me, when a business handles my concerns promptly and favorably, I'll judge them based on that as well.
